MediaClinic 0.18.3: first Windows download, export and faster scans

Download MediaClinic-0.18.3-win64.zip, unzip it, open the MediaClinic folder and double-click MediaClinic.exe. No Python needed. Keep the whole folder together. logs\ and backup\ are created next to the exe; your settings and API keys are stored in %APPDATA%\MediaMetadataClinic\. FFmpeg and FFprobe are optional and are not included.

SHA-256 of the zip:

Highlights

  • New Export Movie List… (Ctrl+Shift+E): column presets, filtered view, CSV, text or Excel
  • Faster scans: each NFO, XML and image header is read once per movie, and scan results moved out of settings.json
  • Health messages corrected for source IDs, ratings, votes and titles; new rules for an ID present in one file only
  • Quick Scan now really detects modified movies; the Settings menu opens the right tab
  • TMDB image downloads retry on 429, 5xx and timeouts
  • About 1,900 lines of duplicated or dead code removed

Notes

  • The exe is not code-signed. Windows SmartScreen may warn: click More info, then Run anyway. Antivirus software may analyse a new unsigned program on first start, which can make it slow to open once.
  • Built with PyInstaller 6.22 on Python 3.12 (one-folder build, 39 MB unpacked). Tested on Windows 11: windowed launch, all tabs and dialogs, a real scan, fix and Excel export on a sample library, settings persistence across restarts, and a launch from the extracted zip. The 98-check self-test passes on the build.
  • Bundled components are Python, Pillow (HPND) and openpyxl (MIT). No GPL or AGPL.
