Claude Commander v1.0.4 — Gold Box file types, cd-on-exit, and a Windows console port

This release adds support for opening SSI Gold Box (AD&D) game-data files
straight from the panels, leaves your shell in the panel's directory on exit,
ships a timestamp tool, and includes an experimental native Windows console
build. All of the new file-type support is pure configuration — no change to
cc.com itself.

New: Gold Box (SSI AD&D) game-data support

Press Enter to browse a Gold Box container as a folder, or F3 to view a
member — for Pool of Radiance, the Krynn trilogy, and friends:

  • .glb master libraries route through CCGLB, a dispatcher that sniffs each
chunk and hands it to the right lister: digitized sound → CCSND, image
masters → CCHLIB, area maps → CCGEO.
  • .tlb/.hti image masters (CCHLIB), .geo area maps (CCGEO),
.daa/.dai data (CCDAA), .gbi images (CCGB), .dax containers
    (CCGBC).

Verified end-to-end on real game data (e.g. GEO.GLB → browse M0000.GEO /
M0001.GEO; a .dax → its B0000.GBD member).

New: "cd on exit"

Quit cc and the shell is left in the active panel's directory (Norton/Volkov
style). On DOS this is free — the current directory is global system state, so cc
just CHDIRs there before terminating.

New: CCTOUCH.COM — set a file's date/time

CCTOUCH <file> [YYYY-MM-DD [HH:MM[:SS]]] (defaults to now). Handles read-only
files. Bundled in the distribution.

New (experimental): wincc — native Windows console port

A separate C build that runs Claude Commander directly in a Windows 10/11
console (no DOSBox/16-bit subsystem) — dual panels, file ops, F3 viewer, sort,
themes, quick search, live resize, and cd-on-exit. It shares the DOS design,
not the source; the DOS build remains the focus. (Not part of the DOS zip below.)

Extensibility — add file types yourself, no recompile

cc.ini is read at startup, so a new type just needs a helper .COM on the
drive and one line:

  • [open] ext = HELPER → Enter browses it as a folder.
  • [view] ext = HELPER → F3 runs your viewer.
  • [tools] Label = PROG [key] → a Tools-menu entry / hotkey running PROG <file>.

Docs

  • README gains a Bundled tools & file associations reference (every helper,
what it does, how to run it).
  • A cross-platform plan (PORTABLE_PLAN.md) sketching a future portable C core
sharing the DOS tool spec + tests.

Download: cc-v1.0.4.zip — MOUNT it as a DOS drive (DOSBox or real
hardware / MiSTer ao486) and run CC. Press F1 inside for the key reference.
