Better battery while your device sleeps

This one's all about sleep. When your screen turns off, PULSE now steps fully out of the way — it hands
the fan back to your device's own control, turns the joystick lights off, and stops doing any background
work until you wake it. The moment you turn the screen back on, everything picks up right where it left
off, instantly.

• Fan is handed back to the stock profile at screen-off (it quietly winds down on its own if the device
  was warm), and PULSE takes control again the second you're back
• Joystick lights turn off while asleep and return to your color on wake
• No background activity at all while the screen is off — your tuning resumes the instant you wake it

If you never noticed a sleep drain, you don't need to do anything — this just makes an already-quiet
device quieter. Nothing about how PULSE tunes your games changes.

The Quick Access bar update!

Tune PULSE from inside your game. Turn it on in Settings, then open it with a controller shortcut or
the handle on the edge of the screen.

• Switch performance modes on the fly — AutoTDP, a power preset, your Custom setup, or Stock
• Tune AutoTDP mid-game: frame target, efficiency vs. smoothness, aggressive cpu parking
• Adjust your Custom setup's power target and GPU cap live
• Choose whether changes apply to just the game you're playing, or to every game globally
• Control the fan, joystick lighting, performance overlay, brightness, and volume
• Built for the controller: D-pad to move, A to select, B to close, bumpers to switch tabs
• Every change is confirmed on screen the moment it lands — nothing changes silently

Fixes

• Fan settings no longer disappear when AutoTDP is selected (#1 requested change everyone seemed to want)
• Fixed benchmark scores coming in slightly low after AutoTDP had been used
• Fixed the fan getting stuck at one speed after updating PULSE
• Changes made from the Quick Access bar or the Quick Settings tile now show up in the app right away

PULSE v1.19.3

The stability follow-up to 1.19.2 (which I pulled earlier) — this fixes the fan and AutoTDP issues from that build. If 1.19.2 felt off (loud fan, or games not as smooth under AutoTDP), this is the one to fix all that. No new features; all fixes. Again thank you for your patience- I'm just a single developer trying to make this awesome for everyone in my spare time.

What's fixed in 1.19.3

• AutoTDP holds a smooth, flat 60 again on lighter games. 1.19.2's efficiency tuning was too aggressive: it could mistake a merely-busy CPU core for a maxed-out one, give up chasing your FPS target, and pull the clocks down — showing up as frametime wobble and dips on games that used to sit at a rock-solid 60. AutoTDP now only eases off when a core is genuinely pegged, so light, cool games hold their flat 60. Heavy/AAA games behave the same as before throttling back TDP wise to keep stable temps depending on the device in question.
• The fan no longer gets stuck loud. With the Custom fan on, closing PULSE (or a force-stop, or a reboot) could leave the fan blasting — the controller had handed the hardware to manual mode and then wasn't around to drive it. PULSE now keeps the fan on the quiet vendor mode whenever it isn't actively cooling, so a closed app can never strand it loud, and it stays quiet on boot.
• Turning AutoTDP off restores your Custom profile. Switching AutoTDP off now re-applies your manual tier (including your Power Target) instead of leaving the clocks wide open until you re-tapped a setting.
• Presets fully reset now. Applying a preset clears a leftover CPU floor (it already cleared GPU floors), so the live values match what's shown on screen.
• Steadier background behavior. The watcher that drives Fan / RGB / AutoTDP shrugs off a transient hiccup instead of quietly stopping.

Supported devices

AYN Odin 3 · AYN Thor · Retroid Pocket 6. Other AYN and Retroid handhelds with the PServerBinder service MAY work; if yours doesn't have it, PULSE will simply tell you it's incompatible (and never ask you to root anything). Sorry I don't have any other Retroid or AYN devices to verify the app for.

1. Download pulse-v1.19.3.apk below and install it (allow "unknown sources" if prompted). It installs straight over any older version.
2. On first run, grant Usage Access and Display over other apps permissions.

Give your handheld a brain. PULSE is a no-root performance tuner for the AYN Odin 3, AYN Thor, and Retroid Pocket 6 — per-cluster CPU/GPU control, a closed-loop frame-rate governor, a smart fan, live telemetry, and joystick RGB. No root required — it drives the device's own built-in service.

Highlights

• AutoTDP — a closed-loop controller that holds your target FPS at the minimum power it can, with Efficient / Balanced / Smooth modes (per-app or global). The watt cap is a ceiling, not a target — it runs efficient when a game is light and only climbs when it has to.
• Custom fan — a PI controller that holds a target temperature with the least fan noise possible, or a manual EVGA-style curve. Runs everywhere, including during AutoTDP.
• Manual tuning — per-cluster CPU caps, GPU cap, floors, power tiers, and a TDP-style Power Target slider.
• Live HUD + in-game OSD — clocks, temps, draw, FPS, and a battery-remaining estimate, all colour-coded.
• Joystick RGB — battery/heat info-LED or a manual per-stick colour picker.
• Five animated themes.

⚠️ PULSE changes CPU/GPU frequency limits, which affects stability, thermals, and battery life. The kernel's own thermal limiter stays in charge underneath it, but use it understanding what frequency limits do. See the README for full guides.
