PULSE v1.19.3

The stability follow-up to 1.19.2 (which I pulled earlier) — this fixes the fan and AutoTDP issues from that build. If 1.19.2 felt off (loud fan, or games not as smooth under AutoTDP), this is the one to fix all that. No new features; all fixes. Again thank you for your patience- I'm just a single developer trying to make this awesome for everyone in my spare time.

What's fixed in 1.19.3

  • AutoTDP holds a smooth, flat 60 again on lighter games. 1.19.2's efficiency tuning was too aggressive: it could mistake a merely-busy CPU core for a maxed-out one, give up chasing your FPS target, and pull the clocks down — showing up as frametime wobble and dips on games that used to sit at a rock-solid 60. AutoTDP now only eases off when a core is genuinely pegged, so light, cool games hold their flat 60. Heavy/AAA games behave the same as before throttling back TDP wise to keep stable temps depending on the device in question.
  • The fan no longer gets stuck loud. With the Custom fan on, closing PULSE (or a force-stop, or a reboot) could leave the fan blasting — the controller had handed the hardware to manual mode and then wasn't around to drive it. PULSE now keeps the fan on the quiet vendor mode whenever it isn't actively cooling, so a closed app can never strand it loud, and it stays quiet on boot.
  • Turning AutoTDP off restores your Custom profile. Switching AutoTDP off now re-applies your manual tier (including your Power Target) instead of leaving the clocks wide open until you re-tapped a setting.
  • Presets fully reset now. Applying a preset clears a leftover CPU floor (it already cleared GPU floors), so the live values match what's shown on screen.
  • Steadier background behavior. The watcher that drives Fan / RGB / AutoTDP shrugs off a transient hiccup instead of quietly stopping.

Supported devices

AYN Odin 3 · AYN Thor · Retroid Pocket 6. Other AYN and Retroid handhelds with the PServerBinder service MAY work; if yours doesn't have it, PULSE will simply tell you it's incompatible (and never ask you to root anything). Sorry I don't have any other Retroid or AYN devices to verify the app for.

Install

  1. Download pulse-v1.19.3.apk below and install it (allow "unknown sources" if prompted). It installs straight over any older version.
  2. On first run, grant Usage Access and Display over other apps permissions.
