@github-actions github-actions released this 07 Sep 16:25

LocalTeX v0.1.1 improves localization, copy controls, and recognition reliability.

Changes

  • Add Simplified Chinese support and a language dropdown in Settings. Language changes apply immediately, including tray menus.
  • Improve Chinese terminology, settings descriptions, and translation coverage.
  • Remove the global Markdown/LaTeX switch, its default-format setting, and Ctrl+L shortcut. Individual copy buttons remain available; Ctrl+C and automatic copying remember the last format used for each content type.
  • Preserve other preferences and custom shortcuts when loading settings from older versions.
  • Keep OCR running when the history library cannot be saved, and report handwriting confidence from model output.
  • Add Ctrl+B to show or hide the history sidebar.

Downloads

All application packages include the OpenDoc and handwriting models for offline recognition.

Platform Download
Windows x86_64 LocalTeX-0.1.1-x86_64-Setup.exe installer, or the portable .zip
Linux x86_64 .deb package, or the .tar.gz archive

Linux builds target Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (glibc 2.39) and require X11. Ubuntu 22.04, Wayland, and macOS are not supported.

SHA256SUMS contains checksums for the four application packages. GitHub's source archives do not include model weights.

@github-actions github-actions released this 05 Sep 16:50

LocalTeX turns screenshots and handwritten formulas into reusable Markdown or LaTeX, entirely on your device.

Highlights

  • Recognize text, formulas, and tables from screenshots or imported images.
  • Write formulas on the drawing board and convert them to LaTeX.
  • Review and edit results, export to Word, and search your local history.
  • See the application version and Git commit in Settings → System.
  • Built with Rust 2024; source archives also build without Git metadata.

Models

LocalTeX does not embed ONNX weights. This release holds the packs installed
under $LOCALTEX_MODELS or the platform-specific LocalTeX data directory.

./scripts/download-models.sh

The downloader verifies SHA256SUMS, extracts both dated tarballs, and installs
them as opendoc/ and handwriting/.

OpenDoc-0.1B (opendoc_dynamic_int8_20260903_d8c4e76)

Asset Purpose

    pred_boxes, and order_logits

Runtime identity and integrity

The five ONNX files carry schema-1 localtex.* metadata for their pack ID,
component, model family, tensor contract, precision, and source revision.
LocalTeX shows the manifest identity as Declared before lazy loading and
changes it to Verified, Unstamped, or Mismatch after opening the
sessions.

manifest.json is the machine-readable model card. SHA256SUMS covers the
current OpenDoc tarball, handwriting tarball, and model card. The 20260902
OpenDoc, 20260831 handwriting, and fixed-800 OpenDoc assets remain available
for manual rollback; they are not referenced by the current manifest.
