VibeSync 0.3.0
Sync that survives a wrong passphrase — and explains itself.
One unreadable file used to abort an entire sync. Four files encrypted under a stale passphrase silently blocked every session, project and sidebar entry across two machines, with nothing in the logs to say why. This release makes that class of failure visible, survivable and self-repairing.
Fixed
- A bad file costs one file, not the sync. Anything that can't be read or written is skipped, counted and retried next sync — everything else still syncs.
- Setup checks your passphrase against the storage before you finish, in about a second, and tells you plainly whether it's the right one. Continue stays disabled while it checks.
- Clear diagnosis in the log. A sync that hits unreadable files prints a block naming the machine that wrote them and which computer to fix it on — and says nothing is lost.
- Self-healing. After you correct a passphrase, that machine re-uploads its own unreadable files automatically. No manual repair, and it never touches another machine's files.
- No pointless re-uploads. Content the store already holds is adopted rather than re-uploaded; identical bytes were changing object ETags and stalling every other machine's sync.
Also
- README reorganised around a quick start and a real troubleshooting section, including what each log message means.
- Windows: the tray popover no longer closes itself; a second launch focuses the running app.
