What changed

  • Added native macOS support for Apple Silicon and Intel.
  • Bundles and verifies the correct ExifTool executable on each operating system.
  • Uses macOS-native Trash wording in English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
  • Keeps the existing local-only, human-verification, backup, tagging, and verification workflow.

First launch on macOS

The free Mac build is not Apple Developer ID signed or notarized. macOS may therefore show a warning saying Apple cannot verify the developer or that the app cannot be opened. This warning is expected for this unsigned release; an Apple Developer account is not required to run the app.

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Amazon - Adding Metadata Tag into Applications.
  2. Open Applications, Control-click the app, and choose Open.
  3. Choose Open again in the confirmation dialog.
  4. If macOS still blocks it, open System Settings > Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway for the blocked app.

You normally need to approve only the first launch of each newly downloaded version. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally or run unfamiliar commands from third-party websites.

Human verification remains required. This independent tool is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Amazon.
