Crewmates start to plan with you: Mate greets a new user, goals carry milestones and check-ins, and a crewmate proposes changes you confirm as cards. Dashboards leave preview for everyone and a crewmate can write its own page, while chat, the sidebar and every backend get faster ways to move, steer and recover.

Crewmates that plan with you (Preview)

  • Meet Mate: with Settings → Developer → Feature Previews → Crewmates on, your first visit to the Crewmates page opens Mate, a first crewmate that explains what crewmates do and lets you give it a name, and New crewmate opens as one card in a window over the chat.
  • Goals with milestones: a crewmate keeps its goals with linked milestones, offers check-ins and reports as cards you confirm, and keeps your draft when you edit, remove or undo a goal.
  • Changes you confirm: a crewmate proposes changes as cards you accept, updates its own name and description from its chat, points you to the control on your screen, and gets a workspace of its own when it is created.

Dashboards for everyone

  • Out of preview: the Dashboard tab no longer needs a Feature Preview, a main session's side panel shows a dashboard of its own, and Automatic cards for all sessions moves to its own card under Settings → Developer, still off by default.
  • Pages a crewmate writes: a crewmate composes its own page with the dashboard skill, starting from a gallery, and you keep or discard the staged page from the Dashboard tab.
  • Your own pages, better defaults: pages you put in ~/.kiro/crew/panel-templates/ are offered beside the shipped ones, a conductor opens on its board, a crewmate's default page shows what it published, and the built-in pages follow your UI language.

Agents that lead and hand off

  • A team lead agent: kirocrew-team-lead ships as a default agent that splits a goal into work items, opens a session for each, and does the small ones itself.
  • Pick the backend per task: spawn_run takes a backend for each task, and the Subagents card lists every tool call a sub-agent makes.
  • Questions that wait for you: an agent's question card now waits for your answers and hands them back to the agent, never as a message in your name.

A chat you move through faster

  • Copy a reply your way: a reply's right-click menu offers Copy as rich text, which pastes into Outlook or Word with headings, lists and tables intact, beside Copy as Markdown.
  • Jump between prompts: Alt+Up and Alt+Down step through the open chat's prompts, and a file the agent names shows as an Open file chip under its reply.
  • Less to scroll: a running turn shows only its last five activity rows, Settings → Chat → Transcript → Tool calls start expanded opens tool rows when you want them, and the session menu's Export as readable Markdown saves a transcript a person can read.

Turns that finish

  • Time limits you set: Settings → Chat → Advanced → Turn Time Limit (seconds) sets how long a turn may run, and the timeout card lets one session run under its own limit.
  • Ride out a dropped connection: a short network drop to the model provider is waited out instead of failing the turn.
  • No endless retries: a conversation too full to continue offers a fresh session instead of retrying.

More from every backend

  • Steer, effort and compaction: a message sent while a Claude Code or goose turn runs is steered into that turn, the reasoning effort control reaches goose and opencode, and a manual /compact works on KAS and pi.
  • KAS without kiro-cli: Settings → Agent Harness → Use the built-in KAS engine, off by default, installs and runs KAS from an engine build pinned to this release, so kiro-cli no longer needs to be installed for it.
  • Side Chat that can look: Side Chat runs read-only tools on Claude Code, goose and KAS, and pi sessions get Crew's MCP servers.

A sidebar that shows what is busy

  • Filter by model: the sidebar filter menu gains Filter by model, with a session count per model and a Hide sessions on these models row.
  • See what is working: a pulsing dot leads the name of a working session, and a crew's group header counts the chats waiting on an approval, an answer, or still working.
  • Crew folders and full titles: a crew's own folders show inside its crew group, and Settings → Chat → Sessions → Show Full Titles While Scrolling keeps long titles readable.

Settings for proxies, profiles and trust

  • Variables for every agent: agent.env sets variables such as HTTPS_PROXY or NODE_EXTRA_CA_CERTS for every agent process, and aws.project_profiles starts a session with the AWS profile mapped to its project folder.
  • Trust that expires: the chat approval prompt offers this command, or every command of its kind, for an hour or for the rest of today, beside the grant for the session.
  • More hosts and secrets: dashboard.github_hosts adds GitHub Enterprise hosts, channel tokens accept secret:// references and store new ones in the vault, and agent.model_context_tokens declares the context window a model is served with.

Memory you control

  • Forget on purpose: kirocrew memory forget removes a memory, and the Memory page shows where each lesson came from.
  • Switches for what is kept: memory.writes_enabled and memory.lesson_extraction_enabled turn off memory writes and lesson extraction.
  • Move only your memory: Settings → Import / Export offers Export memory only and Import memory only, and a crew config export can carry its agent templates with their secrets replaced.

Remote crews

  • A crew on a Lambda MicroVM: a microvm block in cloud.json adds a lane that runs a crew in an AWS Lambda MicroVM billed per second, with a one hour default lifetime after which its home is gone.
  • Keep crews in step: the Remote Crew row and the crew window header show when a crew runs an older build and offer to update it, and the owner can disable one remote crew.

Usage, voice and sounds

  • Spend over time: the Usage tab's Overview gains a Spend over time (credits) chart stacked by channel, agent, model or week, and Developer → Telemetry gets one time window for every card.
  • Voice: stt.transcribe_languages lets Amazon Transcribe detect two to five languages in one stream, a sound plays when dictation stops on its own, and a bar above the composer offers Stop reading while a reply is read aloud.
  • Your own sounds: Settings → Notifications → Custom sounds adds named tones you can test before you save them, and a crewmate's notifications show its avatar.

Issue Radar

  • CI failures on your pull requests: Issue Radar can alert you when CI fails on your own pull requests, with a CI runs tab and a per-repository switch.
  • GitLab groups: following a GitLab group now brings its review requests from every subgroup, new projects included.

Lighter and faster

  • Less memory: the embedding model unloads after an hour idle (memory.embedding_idle_evict_secs), and the gateway holds far less memory on hosts with many cores.
  • Faster reads: Knowledge search returns in about a fifth of the time, and long sessions render warm instead of re-checking every message.
  • Faster tools: Crew's own MCP servers start faster and answer a finished tool at once.

Notable fixes

Chat and sessions. A send made while a page is loading or a Stop is settling is kept, a scrolled-up reader stays in place while a reply streams (and Firefox stays pinned to the bottom when you are not scrolled up), and the composer goes idle when a turn ends without a closing signal. /clear works on KAS, codex, opencode, pi and deepseek, and editing a message on Claude Code forks its conversation.

Channels. Slack, Telegram and Discord never post a reply twice after a disconnect, and they mark a reply part that could not be delivered. A Feishu group message is served only when it mentions the bot, and Slack follows a new default agent without a gateway restart.

Schedules. A one-shot cron that fails, times out or is cancelled is kept and parked instead of lost, a spring-forward time runs once, and each agent cron run checks the Kiro sign-in first. Cron store writes survive a crash.

Windows. Store writes retry a rename that Windows briefly holds, a host sleep is no longer read as a dead gateway, and MCP servers answer pings while a tool runs.

Security and access. Git is no longer auto-approved as a read-only shell command, a trust grant for a program no longer covers a write redirect, and the desktop app keeps the dashboard token out of its logs. The gateway refuses to start on a truncated signing key, and webapp previews run without unsafe-eval.
