Crewmates become colleagues you can check on at a glance. Opening one greets you with where its work stands, a profile card holds its permission, model and schedules, and in preview each crewmate gets a dashboard page read from its own record. The composer warns before a prompt outgrows the model, the sidebar hides and tidies what you do not need, remote crews open as live windows onto the other machine, and the Usage tab estimates Kiro tokens and the day your credits run out.

Crewmates you can read at a glance

  • A crewmate greets you on open: opening a crewmate on the Crewmates page shows a card with its goal, what is finished, running or waiting on you and one next step, or after six idle hours the goals it left open and its recent sessions, without spending a chat turn.
  • A profile behind the name: the pill at the top of a crewmate's thread says what it is doing now and opens a Profile card with its memory, workspace and notes, its own Permission, Model and Reasoning effort, a Schedules tab for what wakes it and a Sessions tab for the work it drives.
  • Switch crewmates from the header: with a thread open the roster folds into a switcher of faces in the thread header, whose Show the full roster action brings the column back, and the roster lists only crewmates you created, chatted with, starred or set as the default.

A dashboard for every crewmate (Preview)

  • Twelve pages to choose from: with Settings → Developer → Feature Previews → Dynamic Dashboard on, a crewmate's side panel opens a Dashboard tab that shows a project report by default, and you ask the crewmate in chat for another shipped page such as a standup, a roadmap or a kanban of its work.
  • Numbers from the record: every figure is read from the crewmate's crew log, a cost nobody measured shows a dash rather than 0, and a value the crewmate wrote itself is tagged crewmate wrote this.
  • Cards for every session: the same preview adds a status row above the composer and an All Dashboards page, and its Automatic cards for all sessions switch keeps a summary of each session's recent work and next steps.

A composer that knows its limits

  • Context window warning: the composer warns when a prompt nears or passes the model's context window, and a send over the limit is held until you send it a second time.
  • Style Markdown While Typing: Settings → Chat → Composer draws bold, italic, strikethrough and inline code as you type and continues a list on the next line; it is off by default because it switches to a rich-text input that is still in beta.
  • Faster ways in: drag a file or folder row from the Files tab onto the composer to mention it where you drop it, press Cmd+Up or Ctrl+Up to edit your last message, and type ! <command> to review and run a shell command in the session's workspace.

Messages you can quote, widen and hand off

  • Quote a message: hover a message and choose Quote, or right-click it, to carry the whole message into your next send as a quote card that jumps back to the original.
  • Widen a table: a table in a reply gets a Widen toggle that spreads it into the pane's spare width, and its columns drag wider or narrower from the edge of each header cell.
  • Add to main chat: a settled Side Chat answer offers Add to main chat, which puts the answer in the main composer for you to send, and a hung side turn can now be stopped.

A sidebar that keeps up

  • Hide by status, pause your filters: the filter menu hides Unread, In progress or Pinned sessions with an eye-slash button, Pause all filters lifts every status chip at once, and a pinned session stays in view while a tag or status filter narrows the rest.
  • Folders that tidy themselves: the sidebar header's menu offers Clean up empty folders with a list of what goes first, clicking an open folder's connector line collapses it, and a folder path written in chat becomes a chip that reveals the folder.
  • Titles and unread marks that help: a session's row menu offers Regenerate title, and Settings → Notifications → Alerts → Mark sessions unread only when they need you marks a background session unread only when its agent finishes or waits on you.

Remote crews as live windows (Preview)

  • A window onto the other machine: with Settings → Developer → Feature Previews → Remote crew sessions on, a peer crew's session opens as a window onto that crew's own transcript, running state and approvals, and New chat on crew creates the session on the peer, so nothing is stored on this machine.
  • Grouped per machine: the Sessions list puts Local first, then one collapsible group per crew with an online, reconnecting, error or offline badge.
  • Old relay chats stay readable: a chat an older build ran on a peer through the retired turn relay opens read-only.

Channels that follow your sessions

  • Slack threads for new sessions: Settings → Channels → Slack → Connect new sessions to Slack automatically gives every new dashboard session a thread in your direct message with the bot on its first message.
  • Telegram topics and proxies: Telegram serves each forum topic in a private chat as its own session, and TELEGRAM_API_BASE_URL routes the Bot API through a reverse proxy where the public host is blocked.
  • A busy session queues instead of refusing: a Telegram or Teams message that reaches a session mid-turn is steered into the turn or queued, and the conversation says which.

Usage you can plan by

  • Estimated tokens for Kiro: the Usage tab gains an Estimated Tokens card and an Est. tokens column in Daily History, because Kiro CLI reports credits but no token counts.
  • When your credits run out: the Kiro Account modal says under its meter whether your credits last until the reset or, at your current pace, the day they run out.
  • Credits on more surfaces: a subagent run reports its credits beside its elapsed time, and a cron run's result carries the same usage footer as a chat turn.

Schedules, memory and the CLI

  • Hand a failed run to the agent: an expanded failed or timed-out run in a job's history on the Schedule page carries a button that opens a chat with that run's trace.
  • Restore a memory: the memory records editor offers Restore an earlier version with a Now and After restoring preview, and kirocrew memory create-store creates a declared store.
  • CLI and export additions: kirocrew cron add --managed-by lets a tool own a cron by key, kirocrew cloud launch takes --ami and --extra-packages, and Settings → Import / Export can include persistent chat history in an export.

Desktop, terminal and voice

  • Terminal settings and keys: Settings → Display → Terminal gains Cursor style and Reuse the current terminal, Ctrl+ toggles the terminal and Ctrl+Shift+ adds one, and a tab closes when its shell exits.
  • Copy images, open decks: copy an image to the clipboard from the image viewer or the desktop app's right-click menu, and a PowerPoint deck opened in the side panel renders as slides when LibreOffice is on the gateway host.
  • Voice on your terms: Settings → Voice gains a Use a key to start dictation switch, a microphone level test and a Custom vocabulary list for Amazon Transcribe.

Look, layout and defaults

  • Translucent panels are opt-in: Settings → Display → View → Translucent panels shows the top bar, the message box and the search fields as frosted glass, and solid cards are the default.
  • Settings that moved: Agent Capabilities is now Customize, Subagent Settings and Warm Pool move to Settings → Agent Harness, Settings → Chat → Advanced → Compaction Time Limit (seconds) is editable, and Settings → Display → Zoom takes an exact percent.
  • Quieter by default: a new install starts Settings → Chat → Transcript → Response Verbosity at Answer only, the Ultra level is retired, Settings → Chat → Sessions → Dim Inactive Panes can be turned off, and the project picker gains a Favorites tab.

Notable fixes

Chat and sessions. A channel, cron or subagent turn whose backend lost its session reloads it instead of failing, queued messages survive a recycling reset, and a stalled sub-agent no longer holds back your messages. Closing a busy session from the sidebar asks first, and Back and Forward keep working after a session closes. On Windows, a briefly locked file no longer wipes the saved context readings of your other tabs.

Windows and installs. The Windows command line is read as UTF-8, .env files and Claude project settings saved with a byte order mark read correctly, and one-shot Kiro CLI calls no longer open a console window. The installer shows live progress, a Windows installer exit 17 names its cause, and an update verifies a rebuilt environment before it drops the backup.

Security and access. Every built-in app's write routes accept only the dashboard owner, data-home files are created readable by you alone, and agent specs that carry projected secrets are written owner-only. An untrusted checkout's agent spec hooks no longer reach the turn loop, config-defined git hooks are disabled for host-side git, and the dashboard serves its fonts locally.

Updates and agents. The dashboard's Update and kirocrew update no longer fail with "could not fetch latest-cli.json" when they download a new version. A crewmate whose template uses a name the KAS engine reserves, such as default, now runs on KAS instead of being refused, and a tool that waits no longer holds up the other tools of its session.
