GitHub Legacy 1.1
GitHub Legacy 1.1
Changelog
iOS 5 support
- Runs natively on iOS 5.0, not just iOS 6+.
- A custom pull-to-refresh control for iOS 5, since
UIRefreshControldoesn't exist there. - Fixes for iOS 5
UIWebViewquirks: horizontal code scrolling in diffs, and a native sticky file header whereposition: stickyisn't supported.
Opening github.com links from outside the app
- A companion Safari tweak redirects github.com links straight into GitHub Legacy, with an on/off switch in Settings. (This function does not work in .ipa)
- A githublegacy:// URL scheme lets other apps deep-link straight into a user, repo, issue, pull request, commit, or release. vless-core-app uses this to send you straight to its release notes when it has an update.
Functionality
- Issues and pull request search.
- Clear messaging when a GitHub token is missing the scope needed to star or follow.
- Fixed "latest release" and specific release-tag links opening the release list instead of the release itself.
Stability
- Fixed a launch crash on iOS 7.1.2.
Settings & UI
- Fixed inconsistent text weight in Settings on iOS 5/6.
- Fixed the sign-in prompt not fitting on one screen and not re-centering after rotating the device.
- Fixed the commit header staying dark after switching to light theme.
- Fixed the "Explore" back button label not updating right away after changing the app language.
Maybe something else, but I don't remember anymore :)

GitHub Legacy 1.0
GitHub Legacy 1.0
A lightweight native GitHub client for iOS 6–10: repositories, READMEs, issues, pull requests, commits, and releases — without Safari, and without the official app, which no longer runs on these versions.
Features
- Browse repositories, explore trending projects, and search by name, topic, or user
- View rendered READMEs, issues, pull requests, and full commit history
- Download release assets directly on-device (
.deb,.ipa, source archives, etc.) - Star repositories and follow users, with a dedicated tab for starred-repo release news
- Light and dark themes, with an in-app English/Russian language switch
Install
.deb — for jailbroken devices:
- Download
.debbelow. - Install via iFile, Filza or
dpkg -i.
.ipa — regular sandboxed app, no jailbreak required:
- Download
.ipabelow. - Sideload it with your tool of choice (AltStore, Sideloadly, etc.).
On some iOS 10.x devices, Filza can crash while installing the
.ipa. If that happens, use the.debinstead, or another sideloading tool.
See the README (Русский) for more details.
