Installation

Choose the correct build

Install the Defixus artifact built for the server's exact Minecraft target. The active development branches currently identify these build targets and dependency floors:

Minecraft version Defixus version Fabric Loader Java Fabric API Suggested Cloth-Config version Suggested Mod Menu version
26.3 1.1.0-alpha.1 0.19.5+ 25+ 0.161.0+26.3 26.3.159 21.0.0
26.2 1.1.0-alpha.1 0.19.3+ 25+ 0.152.1+26.2 26.2.155 20.0.3
26.1.x (built with 26.1.2) 1.1.0-alpha.1 0.19.3+ 25+ 0.150.0+26.1.2 26.1.154 18.0.2
1.21.11 (deprecated) 1.1.0-alpha.1 0.18.5+ 21+ 0.141.4+1.21.11 21.11.153 17.0.0

These values come from the version-specific Gradle properties and Fabric metadata in the repository branches of the source code. Use the matching published artifact and its release notes; do not install dependencies from another target row. The 1.21.11 port is deprecated and the support will be removed after the 26.x release cycle.

Defixus has Fabric API, Cloth Config, and Mod Menu as runtime dependencies. Install them on both the client and server as applicable. Cloth Config and Mod Menu provide the client's language settings screen.

Server

  1. Install the Fabric server for the target Minecraft version and start it once.
  2. Install the target-compatible Fabric Loader, Fabric API, Cloth Config, Mod Menu, and Defixus JARs in mods/.
  3. Start the server and review the generated config/Defixus-anticheat/ files.
  4. Configure verification lists and settings; see Server-Configuration.
  5. Back up the configuration before upgrades. Use /defixus reload for verification-list/settings changes that support live reload.

Client

Install the matching Minecraft/Fabric build, Fabric API, Cloth Config, Mod Menu, and the same Defixus version string as the server. Install any mods required by the server's policy. The server rejects a different Defixus version before mod-list policy checks.

Geyser / Floodgate

On a server with the corresponding Fabric integration and API available, Defixus can recognize Bedrock players through Geyser/Floodgate and skip the Java-client verification request for recognized Bedrock players.

First-use checklist (share with your community)

  • Confirm the server and clients use the same Defixus release version.
  • Confirm each installation targets the same Minecraft version as its Fabric build.
  • Confirm the required dependencies load without Fabric dependency errors.
  • Test list behavior with warning-only settings before enabling kicks for unapproved content (aka not present in whitelist and graylist content).
  • Keep backups of config/Defixus-anticheat/ when migrating to other Defixus versions.
