RK Firmware Updater 0.1.8
Release 0.1.8 focuses on restoring the C++ command-line tool to the upstream rkdeveloptool implementation and building it with GCC on macOS.
Highlights:
- Realigns the copied C++ rkdeveloptool sources with the upstream / rockchip-linux rkdeveloptool code used by the GUI wrapper.
- Removes the local C++ changes that had been made to satisfy Apple Clang.
- Updates the macOS build path to install Homebrew GCC and configure with g++-15 instead of Apple Clang.
- Adds configure-time checks that reject Apple Clang for the upstream C++ sources on macOS.
- Adds C++ unit tests for deterministic rkdeveloptool parser and helper logic.
- Adds make cxx-test and wires make check to run the C++ unit tests.
- Updates CI to run make check before the GUI test suite.
- Updates README, GUI README, and contributor documentation for GCC builds and C++ tests.
Known issue:
- The Windows release workflow failed for this tag, so Windows installer assets are not attached to v0.1.8. Use v0.1.9 for the complete cross-platform release with Windows, macOS, and Linux packages.
Packages are attached for macOS arm64, Linux x64, Linux arm64, Debian/Ubuntu packages, and RPM. The macOS build is ad hoc signed unless Apple notarization secrets are configured, so macOS may show a first-launch security warning.
