Nectar v1.4.0
What's New
- Win+1 to Win+9 open your pinned dock apps (can be turned off in Settings > Dock).
- Per-app volume mixer: open the volume edge and tap the mixer button to set each app's volume.
- Per-monitor behavior: choose Fixed, Smart or Peek separately for each monitor's dock and notch (Settings > Dock / Notch).
- Adaptive dock: in fixed mode, the dock stretches to full width while a window is maximized.
- Start button icon: pick the Nectar logo, the Windows logo, or your own image (Settings > Dock).
- Middle-click a dock icon, or right-click and choose Open New Instance, to open another window of an app.
- Clicking an app with several windows cycles through them, and the dock shows one dot per window.
- Timer chime when the countdown ends, with a Timer Sound toggle in Settings > Notch.
- The Wi-Fi tile shows Off, Not connected or Connected.
- The add-app popup lists running apps first, searches better and won't pin an app twice.
Improvements
- The notch needs a brief hover before it peeks from the top edge, so passing over a maximized window's tabs no longer triggers it.
- Calendars sync right after Nectar restarts or crashes.
- The Settings and Calendar window buttons are now on the right, and those windows no longer maximize.
Bug Fixes
- Store, web app (PWA) and UWP apps show their real icons and get their own dock item.
- Closed apps leave the dock sooner.
- Smart and Peek now react only on the monitor you're using.
- The brightness slider works on laptop screens, and sliders show 0 while muted.
- Volume and brightness keys go back to Windows when their overlay is turned off.
- Nectar restarts itself if its window process crashes.
- Your taskbar auto-hide setting is restored after a crash or force close.
- The dock stays hidden when disabled, even if you change its mode.

Nectar v1.3.5
What's New
- Dock and notch behavior (Fixed, Smart, Peek) can now be set independently per monitor when "Show On: All Monitors" is enabled, instead of one setting applying to every screen.
- All dropdown menus across Settings have a redesigned look, replacing the old plain browser-style dropdowns.
Bug Fixes
- Removed "Hide Dock in Fullscreen," which caused the dock and notch to behave unpredictably across monitors during fullscreen apps. Dock and notch modes now behave exactly as their names describe, with no hidden fullscreen-driven override.

Nectar v1.3.4
Bug Fixes
- The dock could hide on every monitor when only one had a fullscreen app. It now only hides on the screen that's actually fullscreen.
- The dock and topbar could get stuck invisible after pressing Windows' Show Desktop shortcut (Win+D) or minimizing all windows. They now stay put, like the real taskbar.
- The dock could flicker rapidly in and out for some fullscreen apps (like Spotify) whose on-screen controls briefly steal focus. It now waits a moment before showing again so it doesn't strobe.
- Some apps' fullscreen mode (like Fladder) wasn't recognized at all, so the dock never hid for them. It's now detected correctly.
- Auto-update could silently fail when Nectar is installed for all users, leaving the old version in place with no sign anything went wrong. It now asks you to install the update manually instead, which can properly request permission.

Nectar v1.3.3
What's New
- Hide Dock in Fullscreen setting (Settings > General), on by default. The notch is unchanged.
- The notch's update indicator is now a single circle; the extra pill is gone.
Bug Fixes
- The dock and notch no longer stop responding or block other windows. Windows was dropping Nectar's mouse tracking, so it now runs on its own thread.
- Fixed a random crash ("RefCell already mutably borrowed") while windows were being created.
- End Task now works on admin windows like Task Manager, and falls back to a normal close.
- Dock icons now minimize windows like Task Manager, ignore rapid repeat clicks, and no longer send a fake Alt key press, which showed menu letters in Notepad and needed extra clicks.

Nectar v1.3.2
Bug Fixes
- Updates now install in the right place. Installed for all users, an update could end up as a second, separate copy and leave the original on the old version. Nectar now tells the updater where it is installed, so it updates in place and asks for administrator permission when it needs it.
- Uninstalling now removes the Nectar folder. It could be left behind because Nectar lost track of how it was installed and didn't ask for administrator permission, or because the cleanup ran from inside the folder and couldn't delete it. Uninstalling an all-users install now asks for permission and removes everything.
- Updating no longer replaces Nectar's uninstaller window with a plain one, so Uninstall looks and behaves the same before and after an update.

Nectar v1.3.1
What's New
- Diagnostics: Settings > About now has a Diagnostics section. Copy Diagnostics puts your Windows version, WebView2 version, GPU, monitors and display scale, and recent activity on the clipboard so it can be pasted into a bug report, and Open Log Folder shows the log files. Nectar now keeps a log (nectar.log) and records crashes there. A new switch, Log Dock and Notch Clicks, records where the dock and notch respond to the mouse to help track down clicks that don't register. Calendar links, accounts and your location are never included.
- Installer: the setup window is larger and now shrinks to fit small laptop screens instead of cutting content off. Buttons stay in view and the content scrolls if there isn't enough room.
Bug Fixes
- Updates now install. Nectar showed "Update available", but pressing Update did nothing because the update file was missing from the release. It is included from this version on, so every version can update to this one, and a failed update is now recorded in the log.
- Uninstalling now reliably removes the Nectar folder. The uninstaller could leave it behind when Nectar didn't close on request; it now forces Nectar to close, and if a file is still locked it removes the folder the next time you sign in.
- The dock and notch could stop responding to clicks on some PCs, or respond only in the middle of the dock, especially with icon-only mode on. Their clickable area is now refreshed regularly so it can't stay stuck at the wrong size (this is a best-effort fix; use Copy Diagnostics if it still happens).
- If Windows drops Nectar's mouse hook, the dock and notch would stay unclickable until restart. Nectar now notices and reinstalls it, and no longer crashes at startup if the hook can't be installed.

What's New
- Calendar Sync: see your real events in the notch. Add a calendar with a read-only link (a Google secret iCal address, an iCloud public calendar, an Outlook or Proton published link, a Nextcloud share link, or any .ics or webcal:// address), or connect a Nextcloud, iCloud or other CalDAV account with an app password. Repeating events, moved and cancelled instances and time zones are handled. Passwords and links are kept in Windows Credential Manager, never in settings.json, and synced events are cached only on your PC. Sync runs in the background every 5 to 60 minutes and is read-only. Set it up under Settings > Notch > Calendar Sync, which includes a guide for finding each provider's link.
- Notch calendar views: Day, Week, Month and Agenda, with colored event dots, busier days shaded more strongly, a clear selected day, and a button that opens the full calendar.
- Calendar window: a full-size calendar with all four views, a sidebar to show or hide individual calendars, a hover card listing each day's events, and Sync now. Open it from the notch, the new dock icon, the dock's Nectar Options menu, or the tray menu.
- Timer and stopwatch: a stopwatch with laps next to the timer, and a custom time for the timer (type 12, 1:30 or 0:45:00). A running stopwatch also shows in the collapsed notch clock. Calendar, Timer and Stopwatch can each be turned off in Settings > Notch.
- Dock: a calendar icon next to Search, with a setting to hide it.
- Window look: Mac-style red, yellow and green window controls and a see-through glass look on Settings and Calendar. The Settings zoom button now maximizes the window.
- About: a bigger logo.
Bug Fixes
- The selected day in the notch calendar is now easy to see on days with events. The busy-day styling used to override it.

Nectar v1.2.1
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the update screen flickering while an update downloads (takes effect for updates from this version onward)
- Fixed the update installer's own window appearing during automatic updates — updates now install without it (takes effect for updates from this version onward)
- Fixed minimize and restore animations starting from the corner of the screen for windows that were already open before Nectar started

Nectar v1.2.0
What's New
- Pinned dock apps now mirror your Windows taskbar — same apps in the same order, including File Explorer, Discord-style apps and Store apps
- The notch's system tray button now opens the native Windows hidden-icons flyout, right below the notch
- The startup animation now plays on every launch, with the notch and dock appearing together right after it
- Right-clicking a dock icon now opens its menu above the dock, centred on the icon, instead of at the mouse
- Quit in the dock's right-click menu now ends the app like Task Manager's End task
Bug Fixes
- Fixed uninstalling not working from Windows Settings and from Nectar's Settings — Nectar was overwriting the installer's uninstaller with a copy of itself, so "uninstall" just relaunched Nectar; it can now also uninstall itself if an update ever replaces the uninstaller
- Fixed uninstalling an all-users install appearing to succeed while removing nothing — it now asks for administrator permission and removes everything, retrying and logging anything it can't delete
- Fixed "Launch Nectar" after an all-users install starting Nectar as administrator
- Fixed the Uninstall button in Settings only saying "Couldn't Start Uninstaller" — it now shows the actual reason
- Fixed scrollbars appearing in the uninstaller's feedback screen, and the white flash when the installer or uninstaller opened
- Fixed Nectar not appearing in the Start menu — its shortcut was being created in the wrong folder
- Fixed Windows Settings and other Store apps showing a blank or generic icon in the dock, and the Settings gear being larger than the other icons
- Fixed Nectar's own Settings window using a different icon size than the Start button
- Fixed running apps showing their file name (e.g. "taskmgr") instead of their real name (e.g. "Task Manager")
- Fixed the dock briefly appearing at the left of the screen before moving into place
- Fixed the taskbar staying broken after the first time you quit Nectar
- Fixed the dock and notch lingering on screen over the restored taskbar while quitting
- Fixed restarting Nectar showing the taskbar, dock and notch all at once
- Fixed window minimize animations flying toward a far corner of the screen while Nectar is running
- Fixed a lone dot sitting in the middle of the screen while the startup animation played
- Fixed the startup update check cancelling the startup animation
- Fixed screenshot tools like ShareX detecting the notch and dock as two large windows
- Fixed the notch and dock blocking clicks on maximized windows on other monitors
Full Changelog: v1.1.3...v1.2.0
Nectar v1.1.3
Bug Fixes
- Fixed uninstalling sometimes not removing anything — the uninstaller now waits for its own process (and any still-running Nectar) to fully exit before deleting files, instead of a fixed delay that could fail if the confirmation screen was left open for more than a second
- Fixed the taskbar potentially staying auto-hidden if uninstall was launched directly (e.g. from Add/Remove Programs) instead of through Nectar's own "Uninstall Nectar" button
- Fixed Settings showing "Smart" for the Dock behavior on a fresh install when the dock was actually running in "Fixed" mode until manually toggled
- Fixed the auto-update download screen being unreadable over some desktop backgrounds
