Initial release of Vault Feed Reader, a desktop RSS/Atom reader for Obsidian.

  • Browse feeds with folders, filters, keyboard navigation, and read/unread state.
  • Save selected articles as Markdown without overwriting existing notes.
  • Customize saved note filenames, bodies, and properties.
  • Import and export YAML, TOML, and OPML subscriptions.
  • Keep subscriptions and reading state in the vault, with a disposable local article cache.

Requires desktop Obsidian; declared minimum version: 1.8.7.

Validation: build and 90 regular tests passed; one opt-in scale test skipped. Current-release desktop validation, minimum-version compatibility, and OPML interoperability with real exports remain unverified. See the repository validation documents for earlier test scope.

Manual installation: copy main.js, manifest.json, and styles.css into .obsidian/plugins/vault-feed-reader/ in a test vault, then enable Vault Feed Reader. The plugin is not yet approved in the Community Plugins directory.

MIT license. Third-party license notices are included in main.js and provided separately for reference.
