Logbook October 2026
Week of Monday 28th — Release 0.1.0.2 reaches Hackage and the repository records it, then two defects found in use are fixed in one day: failing scenarios now release their resources, and the
whenlens no longer clashes withControl.Monad.when. The second is a breaking rename, so it ships as 0.2.0.0.
The modernization branch is merged (#3) and 0.1.0.2 is uploaded to Hackage with documentation and tagged. The repository's release record, which still called it an unpublished candidate, is corrected (#7).
Resources acquired with GivenAndAfter in a testBehavior scenario were only released when the scenario returned or failed an equality check; any other exception skipped cleanup, and one failing teardown stopped the rest. Every resource is now released however the scenario fails, and the remaining teardowns still run when one throws (#8).
The action lens exported by Test.BDD.Language shared its name with Control.Monad.when, forcing qualified imports. It is renamed whenAction with the same type (#9); a CI-compiled module now imports both unqualified, and the API compatibility check accepts exactly this rename against the 0.1.0.1 baseline. Version 0.2.0.0 is released and recorded as published (#10).
