Admin: Tools :: Testimonials Manager

Once the plugin is installed and enabled, an additional selection is available from your admin's Tools menu: Testimonial Manager.

That tool, on initial entry, displays a list of the currently written testimonials for your store:

From this listing you can

1. Change an individual testimonial's status by clicking on its green/blue/red icons. The testimonial's current status displays as a slightly larger icon.
2. Delete one or more selected testimonials by ticking the to-be-deleted testimonials' checkbox fields and then clicking the "Delete Selected Testimonials" button.
3. Add a new, admin-authored, testimonial by clicking the "Add Testimonial" button.
4. Edit an existing testimonial by first selecting it and then clicking the associated "Edit" button.

Adding or Editing a Testimonial

When an admin clicks the "Add a Testimonial" button from the admin's Tools :: Testimonials Manager tool, the admin can write another testimonial for the store. This form below is with the default field values.

The same form is used to "Edit" an existing testimonial; in this usage, the form-fields are filled in based on the current values for the selected testimonial.

The admin

• Selects the Feedback Status: either Pending, Approved or Banned.
• Selects the testimonial's Rating, a value between 0 and 5.
• Enters the (required) Author's Name and Author's Email Address.
• Chooses (or enters) a Date Added for the testimonial, noting that the date can be in the past or the future. If in the future, the admin should set the testimonial's initial status to "Pending" or that date irregularity will be noticed on the storefront! Leave the field empty and the current date is recorded.
• Chooses whether or how the store can contact the author, with a phone number to enter if by "phone".
• Enters the (required) Testimonials' Title and Testimonial text.
• Can choose both positive and negative votes.
• Can choose and upload an image to accompany the testimonial.

Deleting Testimonials

To permanently remove a testimonial from your store, you'll select the testimonials to be removed and then click the "Delete Selected Testimonials" button from the admin's Tools :: Testimonials Manager page. Once you click that button, you'll see a screen similar to the following. Click the "Delete" button in the right sidebox to confirm the deletion.
