Make sure that:
- your Windows PC and Apple device are connected to the same Wi-Fi (Ethernet is also fine just make sure both devices are on the same LAN)
- Bluetooth is enabled on both devices (this isn't a strict requirement but helps the two devices to find each other)
- uxplay-windows is running in the Windows system tray.
Try these steps in order:
- Right-click the uxplay-windows tray icon and select Restart.
- Check that uxplay-windows is allowed through Windows Firewall on private networks.
- Turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off on your iPhone/iPad/Mac. Wait a few seconds, then turn them back on.
- Restart both your Windows PC and Apple device.
- Disable any VPN temporarily, as it may block LAN discovery.
Close uxplay-windows, then:
- Open Task Manager.
- Go to the Services tab.
- Find and restart Bonjour Service.
- Open uxplay-windows again and retry the connection.
Another application, such as iTunes, may have installed an older or incompatible Bonjour version.
Uninstall Bonjour from Windows Settings → Apps, then reinstall uxplay-windows: it will create the Bonjour service required by the application.
Some networks block communication between connected devices. This can happen on:
- public or guest Wi-Fi;
- school or workplace networks;
- some Android phone hotspots;
- routers with AP or client isolation enabled.
Try connecting both devices to a different home network to confirm whether the network is the problem.
