Ledge 0.1.3
Ledge is a Markdown notebook that runs the code in your notes.
New in 0.1.3
- Ledge for Linux, on x64 and arm64. The same notebook, with Ctrl in place of ⌘, installed under your home folder with no root.
- Ledge for Windows, on Windows 11 x64. Your notes live in WSL and every block runs there, as a Linux command. The app installs its own server into WSL and keeps it at the app's version. The installer is signed.
Fixed in 0.1.3
- The note browser's error strip can be dismissed, and a notice replaces an error that is still showing (#6).
- A window whose connection drops while it is still opening now reconnects, instead of staying on "Connecting… No answer yet." (#7).
- A block that finishes while the connection is down shows how long it really ran once the window reconnects.
Install
Mac, for Apple Silicon: the DMG below. Drag Ledge to Applications and open it from there.
Linux: linux-x64-Ledge-Setup.tar.gz or linux-arm64-Ledge-Setup.tar.gz below. Extract it and run ./installer. It needs GTK 3 and WebKitGTK 4.1 (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 38 or newer).
Windows: win-x64-Ledge-Setup.zip below. Right-click it, choose Extract All, and run Ledge-Setup.exe from the extracted folder. It needs WSL: if Ledge says it is missing, run wsl --install in an administrator PowerShell and restart. Windows may say it protected your PC while the installer is new: choose More info, then Run anyway.
Every desktop app updates itself from here on.
A server, signed in as the account Ledge should use:
curl -fsSL https://ledge.sh/server.sh | sh
Then ~/.ledge/.server/bin/ledge pair prints a code to scan with Ledge on a phone, or to paste into the desktop app's Add Server form.
The manual is at ledge.sh/docs, and inside the app behind the help button.
