AVE 1.2.2 Release Notes

Status: Released. Version 1.2.2, macOS build 34.

Highlights

  • Select multiple video assets and use Batch Selects to find clean, usable ranges in each recording while keeping every source separate.
  • Review AVE's suggested keeps, removals, and shot boundaries before creating a new sequence. Existing media and timelines stay unchanged until you approve.
  • Ask the Assistant or a connected MCP agent to open the same Batch Selects review without conflicting with an active timeline edit.
  • Refined multi-asset controls into a compact floating action bar with clear Rename, Analyze, Selects, Move, and Delete actions.
  • Fixed Smart Rename plans being incorrectly marked stale when remembered footage labels were used as naming evidence.
  • Added quick access to AVE Guides from the editor footer and Settings.

Release Scope

  • Base: 3b87032 (published AVE 1.2.1 source state).
  • Adds no production dependencies and does not change the bundled Local AI runtime or starter models.
  • Existing licensing identifiers, Polar products, Sparkle signing key, and minimum update build 18 are unchanged.

Release Verification

  • Full renderer, render-worker, type, syntax, AI behavior, regression, dependency, and package audits passed.
  • Developer ID signing, Apple notarization, stapling, Gatekeeper assessment, DMG integrity, and deep mounted-app signature validation passed.
  • Apple accepted the app submission 8b281886-006d-48cc-9f5a-2458244e9273 and DMG submission d6ab8cb0-483c-4d1d-9fcb-aa2bf8591012.
  • Sparkle ZIP and appcast signing with the existing TinyThings key passed.
  • Desktop DMG: AVE-1.2.2-mac-arm64.dmg, 1,228,575,462 bytes, SHA-256 78076a960b8f5a5e80e4c0464423cf01c14007ed5bc6381b415efe6ed24e4822.
  • GitHub reports all four release assets uploaded with SHA-256 digests matching the verified local files. The public DMG returns HTTP 200.
  • The live Sparkle feed matches the signed local feed, offers build 34, and retains minimum update build 18.
  • Website source commit 1788374 is deployed to production with AVE 1.2.2 download, release notes, and generated AI text.

Known Constraints

  • Batch Selects requires analyzed video evidence. AVE asks the user to analyze sources that do not yet have enough evidence.
  • Accepting the review creates a new sequence; it does not modify existing sequences or source files.
  • Manual installation and the in-app update path from AVE 1.2.1 were not exercised for this release; the user waived that smoke after signing, notarization, stapling, Gatekeeper, mounted-app, package, and live-feed verification passed.
