Obsidian Side Note 2.3 fixes macOS text replacements and adds support for Periodic Notes daily note names.

Changes

  • Text replacement shortcuts now expand after a space, punctuation mark, or Enter. Typing the shortcut alone leaves it unchanged.
  • The editor reloads text replacements when it receives focus.
  • Daily note names now support Periodic Notes settings.
  • List markers and cursor movement are more stable when switching between source and preview text.
  • UI tests check visible input and saved Markdown after opening linked notes and using text replacements.

Verification

  • 109 unit and integration tests passed for the included code changes.
  • The editor UI test passed with saved Mac shortcuts and with fixed test shortcuts.
  • The ARM64 Release build, version 2.3 build 5, passed strict code-sign verification.
  • The bundled editor matches the source bundle byte for byte. ZIP integrity verification passed.
