well apparently it prompted more than one repetitively and it interrupts my other program running. |

I'm no longer being prompted to enter the License Key. I'm not exactly sure why it is now fixed as I literally did nothing further to the installation. |

This popup appears every 5-10 minutes while server is ON, and it's extremely frustrating and unprofessional. This doesn’t seem like a bug but rather a deliberate tactic to push users into paying. If you want to charge for the software, be upfront about it instead of disrupting the user experience like this! |
Looking at this from another lens: you built your stack on a product that was free at the time, and now that it's gone paid, your workflow is disrupted. That sucks—but it was your decision to rely on a free tool with a closed binary and no guarantees of permanence. That's not a professional risk strategy, it's a gamble. Perhaps you didn't take the time to understand how laragon was developed? If you were using this commercially, that's an even bigger red flag. The fact that the source wasn’t open and the license could change at any time should’ve been a consideration from the start. This was never truly "open source" in the way you seem to have assumed. Popups are annoying, sure—but framing this as some moral failure of the developers misses the point. If you don’t want to pay, then migrate, offer constructive feedback, or use an alternative. Complaining like this helps no one. Life's hard, wear a helmet. |

@JMoodyFWD Justin That sounds great - I realise that you cannot deliver everything at once, but plan ahead so that you can include all the other technologies that a web developer might need - Redis, Memcache, Mail spoofing, Mongo, Node/NPM/Yarn/Bun/Deno, Python, Laravel / Symfony / Django. Also try to figure out how to separate out downloadable products and configuration files so that you can apply your single PHP.ini file to any version, so you can upgrade your tool to a new version by installing over the top without breaking anything etc. I will be happy to contribute ideas and/or review your plans and/or act as an alpha tester. |

@JMoodyFWD Very interested in this as well. I only use for personal work, and had planned to buy the subscription to Laragon, because the price is fine. But I steadfastly refuse to pay for software when the creator codes it specifically to harass me incessantly until I do. My rage at the Lemon Squeezy prompt is unmatched in the hearts of men. Looking forward to your release. Let me know if you need a tester. |

Came to add to this thread. After installing yesterday I got 2 prompts maybe. But starting today I keep getting the license prompt every minute... I tried timing it, and it comes every 45 second or 120 seconds. This is very annoying, because it steals focus from any active window, and also when you click anything "Ok, Close, Exit" it just opens a website link. 😭 Going back to V6 for the time being, since V7 is broken and doesn't really add any features that I'd use. :) Edit: It happens even if the services are stopped. |

The thing is the laragon is already running on your machine. running it again will make this prompt appear. just click on the laragon icon on your system tray at the bottom-right corner. happy coding! |

Laragon is free and open-source, so it doesn't require a license key. This prompt often appears if you try to run Laragon again when it's already running in the background. Check your system tray for the Laragon icon and manage it from there. Happy coding! |

Please don't pirate this - anyone who has read my posts here knows I don't agree with the direction Laragon has gone (more closed than ever before, arrogant developer who won't listen), but piracy isn't the way. Either:
If you don't want to pay, just use the free v6. (Or use one of the many free alternatives.) |

If you don't like what Laragon/Leo is doing, you either vote with your wallet or make something better to promote competition, the latter of which others and myself are working on. Resorting to piracy not only makes you look like a lazy whiner rather than a doer, this doesn't solve any issues but makes matters worse. At the very least, if you're gonna pirate some software, at least have some foresight to not advertise or advocate for it via GitHub. |

Laragon has done a truly amazing job for me. I've been using it for almost 4-5 years, andto be honest I'd say it's worth buying. However, the current purchasing method is really annoying. Pirating Laragon is not a good idea, especially since it's now a paid software and free version out there. I found free and open-source alternative with a vision, just check out FlyENV with chinese origin FlyEnv / GitHub: https://github.com/xpf0000/FlyEnv I use Laragon for WordPress design (I'm not a programmer, just a designer with some CSS/HTML/JS knowledge). If you only work with WordPress, you can also use WordPress.com Studio with its AI assistant. Why is it that even after purchasing the license, when I check it, it still frequently prompts me to purchase the license again, and it simply won't work? The latest version has been installed, but I feel like I've been deceived. It doesn't seem as useful and perfect as the promotion claimed. |

@ailifeker : We haven't received any support request or license validation report matching this description. Under normal conditions, once a license is activated it does not repeatedly prompt for repurchase. Once again, to help investigate, could you please share:

It says there that the popup will appear when starting Laragon or launching all services. I wish that was true. In addition to that, it pops up randomly(?) or at regular intervals simply by having Laragon in the background. I even had all its services stopped and the popup forcefully interrupted a game I was playing and jumped me into desktop. You have to completely shut it down if you don't want the popup to continuously harass you. I don't know what the devs were thinking with this implementation. All it makes me want to do is look into alternative solutions instead of supporting such strong-arm tactics. |

@vaantti : Did you read what the popup say? Some clever ones running Laragon minimized to take advantage of it. That's to stop the trick. |

Whenever I launch Laragon 7.0 (portable), it keeps asking for my license key. I purchased a perpetual license yesterday, and when entered it's successful but doesn't appear to be persistent? Is prompting for the license key upon every first load by design, or is there something awry with my installation?
