This release brings Moss to a wider audience with support for seven languages; improves the Home-page with simplified notifications; adds a built-in design feedback tool for gathering user input; updates to Holochain 0.6.1 which uses iroh as the networking layer for significant network speed improvement; improves the Foyer UI and notifications, and adds a settings dialog along with other bug fixes and minor UI improvements.

Details

New Features

  • Redesigned home page: New welcome screen with Moss news section, tool update indicators, and an experimental features toggle.
  • Unified notification system: Adds Group-level notifications with per-message-type urgency settings, configurable notification sounds, read/unread tracking, and an "All streams" view.
  • Internationalization: Moss is now localized in French, German, Spanish, Turkish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, and Dutch — including timestamps, asset panel, and notification labels.
  • Design feedback: Built-in screenshot-based feedback tool that submits directly as GitHub issues, accessible from the home page.
  • Settings dialog: New settings UI with default profile selection and factory reset option.
  • Foyer improvement: The foyer sidebar can now be dragged to resize, with width persisted per group, and foyer messages now produce configurable notifications.
  • Improved Debug panel: Agent public key mapping, blocked message counts, and network stats.

Under the Hood

  • Upgraded Holochain to 0.6.1 which uses Iroh for network trasport
  • Updated bootstrap server to moss.social.
