Assign trip members/guests to specific reservations (flights, hotels, etc.) #1517
ProblemReservations (flights, accommodations, restaurants — whether added manually, imported via AirTrail, or pulled in through the AI/KDE Itinerary booking parser) are currently modeled purely at the trip level: dates, times, confirmation number, notes, status, files. There's no field indicating which trip member or guest a given booking actually belongs to. Two concrete cases where this becomes a real problem: Case 1 — different people, different bookings, same trip. Case 2 — split accommodations, same trip. Both cases come up constantly for group and family trips, and right now the only workaround is stuffing a name into the title or notes field by hand and hoping it stays consistent. Suggested SolutionAdd an optional member/guest assignment to reservations — the same pattern that already exists elsewhere in TREK:
Reservations (and accommodations, and transport bookings) don't have an equivalent. Concretely, I'd suggest:
Additional ContextThis would also make the AirTrail two-way sync noticeably more useful for group trips — right now an imported flight has no structured way to indicate whose itinerary it came from, beyond the confirmation number. Since |

Add from #1557 as requested. Allow filtering of view to only those bookings, transportations, places, etc assigned to self (or to certain individuals) |

I opened a similar request earlier, but it got closed in favor of this thread, so I’ll post my use case here. We’re currently planning a trip to Japan with 8 people who live all over the world. Everyone is booking their own flights (we don’t even arrive on the same day). Right now the only way to distinguish whose booking is whose is to put the name in the title (e.g. “John arriving from Mexico”). This has the side effect that TREK thinks the person visited Mexico, even though they never did. It would be really helpful if we could: Assign bookings / flights / transport to specific travelers (or to everyone) On the packing list side: the list is currently fully shared. It would be nice if one person could create a basic packing list and then send/copy it to everyone so each person has their own version to check off. For tasks it would also be useful to assign people more flexibly — for example assign “Apply for visa” to everyone, or assign only John to “Book tickets for the digital art museum”. TREK is already an amazing piece of software, it just doesn’t feel fully designed around groups where everyone has their own individual bookings and tasks. |

This is the feature that would let me finally move to TREK. |

You'll be able to assign trip members and guests to bookings and transport, see who a reservation is for right on the card, and filter the reservation list by traveler.
