v1.2 — Music everywhere, spare cues, and result text
UNDERTALE, playable by ear — v1.2. A fix update for the NVDA accessibility mod, made and tested by a blind player who beat the whole game with it. This one comes straight from player feedback — thank you to everyone who reported things!
Fixed in v1.2
- Music volume now works everywhere. The N / B keys used to only change overworld music. They now also turn down (and up) the title-screen music and battle music, so the cues come through during fights and on the menu too.
- You can now hear when an enemy can be spared. Sighted players see the enemy's name turn yellow when it's ready to be spared — now you get the audio version. In the FIGHT/ACT target list a ready enemy is announced as "spareable", and the MERCY menu says "Spare, can spare now" when at least one enemy is ready. No more guessing when MERCY will work.
- Result text after an action is now read. Lines that appear after you do something — taking the Monster Candy, buying from the spider bake sale, and other after-a-choice messages — were being skipped. They're spoken now.
- Plus title-screen menu reliability and other under-the-hood fixes.
