Preview build for trying Stickle out. It keeps notes on this computer only: there is no syncing or backup yet, and later versions may change how notes are stored.

Stickle 0.3 preview (v0.3.0-preview.1)

Stickle 0.3 preview

The third preview: notes on one computer, for Windows and Linux, now easier to sort and keep
tidy — categories and marks, notes that line up, checklists and code that are easier to
write, and a new look. Syncing between computers is not there yet.

New

• Categories and marks: give a note one category (shown at the left of its title bar)
  and any marks such as To do, Urgent, Important or Waiting (shown at the right),
  from the note's ⋯ menu. Manage them, and filter the list by them, in the Stickle window
  (Ctrl+1…Ctrl+9 pick a category, Ctrl+0 all of them). Deleting a category can also
  move its notes to the trash, after asking twice.
• One category on the desktop: show only the notes of one category, from the Stickle
  window or the tray, or step through them with a shortcut you set.
• Find on the desktop: a shortcut you set opens a small search box; as you type, only
  the matching notes stay on screen. ↑/↓ move between them, Enter goes to one.
• Notes that line up: drop a note near another, or near the edge of the screen, and it
  settles beside it, a little apart. Hold Alt as you let go to leave it where it is. Drag
  with Shift to move the notes beside it along.
• Easier lists: Enter continues a list or checklist, Enter on an empty item ends it,
  Tab/Shift+Tab nest an item deeper or bring it back.
• Code blocks: typing ``` closes the block for you, code shows in a fixed-width
  font, and each block has a copy button (also from the keyboard).
• The shortcuts at a glance: F1 or Ctrl+/ in a note or the Stickle window, or from
  the tray menu.
• A new icon: a note held on by a strip of tape, sharp at every size.

Upgrading from the 0.2 preview

Replace the program (the zip's folder, or the AppImage) and start it: your notes open as they
were, with no category and no marks. A copy of the notes from before is kept in the backups
folder where the notes are (%APPDATA%\Stickle\backups on Windows,
~/.local/share/stickle/backups on Linux). If you use the Microsoft Store version, it
updates itself.

Good to know

• Notes are kept on this computer only, encrypted. There is no syncing yet.
• On Windows the easiest way to get Stickle is the
  Microsoft Store: it installs without a
  warning and keeps itself up to date. The zips here are not signed yet; with Start
  Stickle when I log in on, Microsoft Defender has been seen to block them as
  Trojan:Win32/Bearfoos.A!ml, a false positive we have reported, so that option starts off.
• On Wayland the desktop asks once whether to allow the shortcuts; the two new ones (next
  category, find on the desktop) start without a key.
• Downloads can be checked against SHA256SUMS.txt.

세 번째 시험판입니다. 윈도우와 리눅스에서 한 컴퓨터 안의 메모로 쓸 수 있고, 이번에는 정리하기가
쉬워졌습니다 — 카테고리와 표시, 나란히 붙는 메모, 쓰기 편해진 체크리스트와 코드, 새 아이콘.
컴퓨터 간 동기화는 아직 없습니다.

새로 된 것

• 카테고리와 표시: 메모마다 카테고리 하나(제목줄 왼쪽)와 할 일·긴급·중요·대기 같은
  표시 여러 개(제목줄 오른쪽)를 메모의 ⋯ 메뉴에서 붙입니다. Stickle 창에서 관리하고 목록을
  거를 수 있습니다(Ctrl+1…Ctrl+9 카테고리, Ctrl+0 전체). 카테고리를 지울 때 그 메모들을
  휴지통으로 보낼 수도 있습니다(두 번 확인).
• 바탕화면에 한 카테고리만: Stickle 창이나 트레이에서 한 카테고리의 메모만 띄우고, 직접 정한
  단축키로 다음 카테고리로 넘깁니다.
• 바탕화면에서 찾기: 직접 정한 단축키로 작은 검색 칸을 열면, 치는 대로 맞는 메모만 화면에
  남습니다. ↑/↓로 오가고 Enter로 그 메모로 갑니다.
• 나란히 붙는 메모: 메모를 다른 메모나 화면 가장자리 가까이 놓으면 살짝 띄워 나란히
  붙습니다. 놓을 때 Alt를 누르고 있으면 놓은 자리 그대로 둡니다. Shift를 누른 채 끌면 옆에
  붙은 메모들이 같이 움직입니다.
• 목록 쓰기가 편하게: Enter로 목록·체크리스트가 이어지고, 빈 항목에서 Enter를 누르면
  끝납니다. Tab/Shift+Tab으로 항목을 안으로 넣거나 꺼냅니다.
• 코드 블록: ```를 치면 닫는 줄이 저절로 생기고, 코드는 고정폭 글꼴로 보이며, 블록마다
  복사 단추가 있습니다(키보드로도 됨).
• 단축키 한눈에 보기: 메모나 Stickle 창에서 F1이나 Ctrl+/, 또는 트레이 메뉴에서.
• 새 아이콘: 테이프로 붙인 메모. 어느 크기에서도 또렷합니다.

0.2 시험판에서 0.3으로 올리기

프로그램(zip을 푼 폴더나 AppImage)만 바꿔 실행하면 메모가 그대로 열립니다(카테고리·표시는 없는
상태로). 바꾸기 전 메모의 사본은 메모를 저장하는 폴더의 backups에 남습니다(윈도우
%APPDATA%\Stickle\backups, 리눅스 ~/.local/share/stickle/backups). Microsoft Store판은 저절로
업데이트됩니다.

알아 두실 것

• 메모는 이 컴퓨터에만 암호화되어 저장됩니다. 동기화는 아직 없습니다.
• 윈도우에서는 Microsoft Store에서 받는 것이
  가장 쉽습니다. 경고 없이 설치되고 업데이트도 저절로 됩니다. 여기 있는 zip은 아직 코드 서명이
  없어서, 로그인할 때 Stickle 시작을 켜 두면 Microsoft Defender가 Trojan:Win32/Bearfoos.A!ml로
  막는 경우가 있었습니다. 잘못된 탐지로 신고했고, 이 항목은 꺼진 채로 시작합니다.
• Wayland에서는 데스크톱이 단축키를 허용할지 한 번 묻습니다. 새로 생긴 두 단축키(다음 카테고리,

Stickle 0.2 preview

The second preview: sticky notes on one computer, for Windows and Linux, now with search,
a trash, shortcuts from anywhere and a portable mode. Syncing between computers is not
there yet.

New

• Search every note from the Stickle window (Ctrl+F), Korean included.
• Trash: deleted notes stay there for a year and can be put back.
• Shortcuts from anywhere: Ctrl+Alt+N a new note, Ctrl+Alt+S the Stickle window,
  Ctrl+Alt+H every note out of sight for a moment (and back). They can be changed in the
  Stickle window. On Wayland the desktop asks once whether to allow them.
• A new note from the clipboard, from the Stickle window.
• See-through notes while you work elsewhere, and locked notes that cannot be moved
  or edited by accident (in each note's ⋯ menu).
• Keyboard only: move between notes with Ctrl+Tab, tick boxes and open links from the
  keyboard, move and resize a note with the arrow keys. Web and mail links in a note open
  with a click.
• Portable mode: on Windows, unzip the -portable.zip anywhere (a USB stick too) and
  Stickle keeps its settings and notes only in the stickle-data folder next to
  stickle.exe. Any copy becomes portable by creating that empty folder in the folder
  that holds stickle.exe (on Linux, the folder that holds the AppImage).
• On Linux, saving the recovery key uses your desktop's own file dialog.

Upgrading from the 0.1.2 preview

Replace the program (the zip's folder, or the AppImage) and start it: your notes, their
colours and places open as they were. A copy of the notes from before is kept in the
backups folder where the notes are (%APPDATA%\Stickle\backups on Windows,
~/.local/share/stickle/backups on Linux).

• 검색: Stickle 창에서 모든 메모를 찾습니다(Ctrl+F). 한국어도 됩니다.
• 휴지통: 지운 메모는 1년 동안 남고 되살릴 수 있습니다.
• 어디서나 쓰는 단축키: Ctrl+Alt+N 새 메모, Ctrl+Alt+S Stickle 창, Ctrl+Alt+H 모든
  메모 잠시 숨기기(다시 누르면 돌아옴). Stickle 창에서 바꿀 수 있습니다. Wayland에서는
  데스크톱이 한 번 허용할지 묻습니다.
• Stickle 창에서 클립보드 내용으로 새 메모
• 다른 일을 할 때 반투명해지는 메모, 실수로 옮기거나 고치지 않게 잠근 메모(메모의 ⋯ 메뉴)
• 키보드만으로: Ctrl+Tab으로 메모 사이를 오가고, 체크 상자와 링크를 키보드로 누르고,
  화살표 키로 메모를 옮기거나 크기를 바꿉니다. 메모 속 웹·메일 링크는 클릭하면 열립니다.
• 포터블 모드: 윈도우에서는 -portable.zip을 아무 곳(USB 메모리도)에나 풀면, 설정과 메모를
  stickle.exe 옆 stickle-data 폴더에만 둡니다. 이미 쓰는 Stickle도 stickle.exe가 있는 폴더
  (리눅스는 AppImage 파일이 있는 폴더)에 빈 stickle-data 폴더를 만들면 포터블이 됩니다.
• 리눅스에서 복구 키를 저장할 때 데스크톱의 파일 저장 창을 씁니다.

0.1.2 시험판에서 0.2로 올리기
