Stickle 0.2 preview

The second preview: sticky notes on one computer, for Windows and Linux, now with search,
a trash, shortcuts from anywhere and a portable mode. Syncing between computers is not
there yet.

New

  • Search every note from the Stickle window (Ctrl+F), Korean included.
  • Trash: deleted notes stay there for a year and can be put back.
  • Shortcuts from anywhere: Ctrl+Alt+N a new note, Ctrl+Alt+S the Stickle window,
    Ctrl+Alt+H every note out of sight for a moment (and back). They can be changed in the
    Stickle window. On Wayland the desktop asks once whether to allow them.
  • A new note from the clipboard, from the Stickle window.
  • See-through notes while you work elsewhere, and locked notes that cannot be moved
    or edited by accident (in each note's ⋯ menu).
  • Keyboard only: move between notes with Ctrl+Tab, tick boxes and open links from the
    keyboard, move and resize a note with the arrow keys. Web and mail links in a note open
    with a click.
  • Portable mode: on Windows, unzip the -portable.zip anywhere (a USB stick too) and
    Stickle keeps its settings and notes only in the stickle-data folder next to
    stickle.exe. Any copy becomes portable by creating that empty folder in the folder
    that holds stickle.exe (on Linux, the folder that holds the AppImage).
  • On Linux, saving the recovery key uses your desktop's own file dialog.

Upgrading from the 0.1.2 preview

Replace the program (the zip's folder, or the AppImage) and start it: your notes, their
colours and places open as they were. A copy of the notes from before is kept in the
backups folder where the notes are (%APPDATA%\Stickle\backups on Windows,
~/.local/share/stickle/backups on Linux).

Good to know

  • Notes are kept on this computer only, encrypted. There is no syncing yet.
  • The Windows builds are not signed yet. With Start Stickle when I log in on, Microsoft
    Defender has been seen to block Stickle as Trojan:Win32/Bearfoos.A!ml, a false positive
    we have reported; that option starts off on Windows. Stickle is also coming to the
    Microsoft Store, which does not have this problem.
  • Downloads can be checked against SHA256SUMS.txt.

Stickle 0.2 시험판

두 번째 시험판입니다. 윈도우와 리눅스에서 한 컴퓨터 안의 포스트잇으로 쓸 수 있고, 검색·휴지통·
어디서나 쓰는 단축키·포터블 모드가 더해졌습니다. 컴퓨터 간 동기화는 아직 없습니다.

새로 된 것

  • 검색: Stickle 창에서 모든 메모를 찾습니다(Ctrl+F). 한국어도 됩니다.
  • 휴지통: 지운 메모는 1년 동안 남고 되살릴 수 있습니다.
  • 어디서나 쓰는 단축키: Ctrl+Alt+N 새 메모, Ctrl+Alt+S Stickle 창, Ctrl+Alt+H 모든
    메모 잠시 숨기기(다시 누르면 돌아옴). Stickle 창에서 바꿀 수 있습니다. Wayland에서는
    데스크톱이 한 번 허용할지 묻습니다.
  • Stickle 창에서 클립보드 내용으로 새 메모
  • 다른 일을 할 때 반투명해지는 메모, 실수로 옮기거나 고치지 않게 잠근 메모(메모의 ⋯ 메뉴)
  • 키보드만으로: Ctrl+Tab으로 메모 사이를 오가고, 체크 상자와 링크를 키보드로 누르고,
    화살표 키로 메모를 옮기거나 크기를 바꿉니다. 메모 속 웹·메일 링크는 클릭하면 열립니다.
  • 포터블 모드: 윈도우에서는 -portable.zip을 아무 곳(USB 메모리도)에나 풀면, 설정과 메모를
    stickle.exe 옆 stickle-data 폴더에만 둡니다. 이미 쓰는 Stickle도 stickle.exe가 있는 폴더
    (리눅스는 AppImage 파일이 있는 폴더)에 빈 stickle-data 폴더를 만들면 포터블이 됩니다.
  • 리눅스에서 복구 키를 저장할 때 데스크톱의 파일 저장 창을 씁니다.

0.1.2 시험판에서 0.2로 올리기

프로그램(zip을 푼 폴더나 AppImage)만 바꿔 실행하면 메모와 색·위치가 그대로 열립니다.
바꾸기 전 메모의 사본은 메모를 저장하는 폴더의 backups에 남습니다(윈도우
%APPDATA%\Stickle\backups, 리눅스 ~/.local/share/stickle/backups).

알아 두실 것

  • 메모는 이 컴퓨터에만 암호화되어 저장됩니다. 동기화는 아직 없습니다.
  • 윈도우 빌드는 아직 코드 서명이 없습니다. 로그인할 때 Stickle 시작을 켜 두면 Microsoft
    Defender가 Trojan:Win32/Bearfoos.A!ml로 막는 경우가 있었습니다. 잘못된 탐지로 신고했고,
    윈도우에서는 이 항목이 꺼진 채로 시작합니다. Microsoft Store 배포도 준비 중이며, Store판에는
    이 문제가 없습니다.
  • 받은 파일은 SHA256SUMS.txt로 확인할 수 있습니다.
