v0.1.7 — Crossfire

Choose a tag to compare

@linux4life1 linux4life1 released this 25 Jul 16:39

The table talks back

This one's about heat at the table — monologues become arguments, mafia learns to lie out loud, and difficulty actually changes how the game feels.

Added

  • Crossfire. After each discussion circle, every living player can challenge someone; that seat gets an immediate full rebuttal before the next challenger. Real back-and-forth, not just going around the ring.
  • Fakeclaims and deception. Mafia is pushed to fakeclaim Sheriff/Doctor, invent protect stories, frame townsfolk, and defend hard on trial. Town is pushed to demand claims and call out dodges.
  • Difficulty house-rule bundles. Casual / Standard / Cutthroat now set discussion rounds, crossfire depth, tie rule, mafia count delta, and Night-0 sheriff peek — not just a prompt flavor line.
  • Assassin shot feedback. After a spent bullet resolves, the Assassin privately learns whether it landed and whether the target was mafia.

Play quality

  • Agents speak in first person, avoid inventing private whispers, and get an "already said today" digest so later seats stop cloning the opening speech.
  • Cutthroat headless smoke: multi-day games with real Doctor fakeclaims, multi-round crossfire wars, and mafia wins that feel earned.

Updating

On v0.1.4 or later: Settings → Updates → Restart & update. On older builds, grab your platform's file below once by hand (assets attach as CI finishes):

  • macOS: LLMerta.dmg
  • Windows: LLMerta_Setup.exe
  • Linux: LLMerta.AppImage (or the tar.gz)

Saves, voices, and keys all carry over.

v0.1.6 — Fair Game

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 23 Jul 18:34

The town aims straight now

This one's about fairness at the table — if you kept dying on the first night no matter how you played, this release is for you.

Fixed

  • Every seat number an agent reads or says is now the same number you see. Behind the scenes, agents were shown a mix of two numbering schemes, so a vote or night kill could land one seat away from the player actually named. Votes, kills, protections, and investigations now hit exactly who they're aimed at.
  • You're no longer the house-favorite murder victim. The human always sat in seat 1, which put you first in every target list the mafia read — and language models love picking the first option. Target lists are now rotated per chooser, and your chair is drawn at random every deal.
  • The name on the floor matches the voice. The dock no longer announces the next speaker while the previous one is still talking.

Updating

On v0.1.4 or later: Settings → Updates → Restart & update. On older builds, grab your platform's file below once by hand:

  • macOS: LLMerta.dmg
  • Windows: LLMerta_Setup.exe
  • Linux: LLMerta.AppImage (or the tar.gz)

Saves, voices, and keys all carry over.

v0.1.5

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 23 Jul 10:35

Voices work now — and the whole table plays at a human pace.

  • Voice playback fixed for real (a missing cache folder silently killed every line since v0.1.1). Captions reveal word-by-word in time with the voice, and each speech holds the table until it's been spoken.
  • Nominations are spoken acts: every seat states its case aloud before the trial forms — including you, with a new 'state your case' field.
  • You can cast a voice per seat in Game Setup (tap the voice icon, preview by ear, 53 Kokoro speakers).
  • Live turn indicators (who's speaking / nominating / voting), a full votes tally with individual ballots, vote prompts that wait for the defenses, and a night overlay that no longer collides with the text.
  • Agents now know exactly how each player died — night kill vs town vote — so the table stops mourning lynchings that never happened.

If you're on v0.1.4: Settings → Updates → Restart & update. (On v0.1.1–v0.1.3, download this once by hand — the updater in those builds can't swap the app.)

v0.1.4

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 23 Jul 07:35

The auto-updater fix. Download this one by hand — it's the last time.

v0.1.1–v0.1.3 shipped a sidecar that downloaded updates but failed to swap the app in (a mount-point parsing bug, now unit-pinned). Those installs can't self-apply this fix, so: download the DMG/installer below, install over the old copy, done. Your saves, voices, keys, and settings all live outside the app and carry over untouched. From v0.1.4 on, Settings → Updates → Restart & update works for real, and every update attempt logs to ~/Library/Logs/LLMerta/update.log.

Also in this build: everything from v0.1.2 (no more beachballs — native voice synthesis and embeddings off the UI thread) and v0.1.3 (reading-paced speeches, legible center stage over any scene, and an explicit warning when voices are enabled but not yet downloaded).

v0.1.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 23 Jul 06:53

Smooth tables: voice synthesis and memory embeddings now run in background isolates, so the UI never freezes mid-game — the spinning-beachball fix. One embedding now serves all seats instead of one per seat.

If you're on v0.1.1, this update installs itself: Settings → Updates → Restart & update.
