- Added Gain Map chromaticity comparison between the SDR base and reconstructed alternate image, with independently switchable layers and a neutral overlap color. Comparison captures share a preview version and retain density bins rather than extra pixel buffers.
- Improved chromaticity plot sizing, axis labels, gamut boundary labels and density contrast, with colors that follow the selected light or dark theme. Comparison mode hides the single-preview pixel marker to avoid mixing different analysis sources.
- Localized the new comparison controls and explanations across all 12 supported languages, and added regression coverage for RGB versus uniform gain, wide-gamut samples, overlap colors, layer toggles and mismatched previews.
Install
- Download
HdrImageViewer-1.0.37-win-x64-portable.zip. - Extract the zip to a normal folder, for example
C:\Apps\HdrImageViewer. - Run
HdrImageViewer.exe.
Requires the x64 .NET 10 Desktop Runtime and Windows App Runtime 2.2. No certificate installation is required for the portable zip. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning because this GitHub build is unsigned.
Recommended Install
For most users, install the Microsoft Store version so Windows handles signing and updates.
Bundled Format Tools
The x64 portable build includes the pinned JPEG XL, AVIF, HEIC, OpenEXR and Ultra HDR codecs and command-line tools. No separate MSYS2 installation is required for these formats.
JPEG Ultra HDR and HEIC / AVIF ISO Gain Map exports support monochrome and RGB gain maps. Codec versions and source checksums are recorded in eng/codecs.lock.json.
