v1.5.1

Choose a tag to compare

@lordofscripts lordofscripts released this 25 Aug 18:47

News

  • Added Menu and Button new tags to the mtag package, they serve better for GUI logging to indicate the source of the trigger.
  • Some minor fix on parsing GO stack frames to determine the source location (package, struct, function/method) when anonymous closure functions are present. This update was made on zlog and backported to mlog
  • The FrameComponent object was added to the util package. It is used for parsing stack frames.

v1.5.0

News

  • The standalone mtag package has been enhanced with new useful Tags that can be used in MLog, ZLog or standalone: Float, Date/DateUTC, Time/TimeUTC and Money. Money comes in several flavors: American, European, Swiss/Liechtenstein for thousands and decimal separators.
  • First check-in of my new Flexible Logger ZLog in the app/zlog package. It merges functionality of app/mlog and app/logx but as objects. It also brings new functionality and a demo program I started using this in my in-house applications. This is major work on issue #7 "Merge MLog and LogX into ZLog"
  • Full migration to the TaskFile runner which will eventually replace Makefile in all my projects. Great find indeed as Makefiles tend to get too convoluted.

Enhancements to the app.PackageVersion object that is useful to report your own module's version
information (and why not using other GoApp functionalities):

  • Added Version() which unlike Short() reports only your module's version number without prefix: 1.4.0
  • Fixed the Short() method which was reporting a double prefix, now it is correct: v0.1.2
  • Fixed the lack of description which was used in the constructors but not stored.
  • Added Info() which reports your module name, version and description: myapp v0.5.7 An ACME product
  • Added the goapp.RegisterModule() function which accepts your module's own PackageVersion instance to notify its existance.

Then if you have several modules that use GoApp,

  • In your application's support or help page, you can enumerate goapp.CustomImports string slice with all the infos of modules that use GoApp's PackageVersion that have registered themselves. NOTE: The register functionality does NOT send any information over the Internet, it is information LOCAL to your application.

A small update with new functionality promoted from another pet project.

  • Fixed #5 Call Tree can now be outputted together with the rest of the log, or separately to a (different) file if WithCallTree(filename) is called during initialization. Previously, it was only possible to use a separate file.
  • Closed #6 Brought in the timex.NewChronometer and timex.NewChronometerItem constructors into the new package timex

News

  • Fixed #4 and introduced several app.Prefer*() to specify which logging subpackage the app.Die*() functions should use.
  • Added a util.Filename object with a fluent API mode util.IFilenameQuery to manipulate filenames or paths either in single operations or multiple chained operations. An ample set of test cases were included for this object. I promoted it from another module that I am developing.

A nice capuccino would be nice LOL to help continue development of public packages in my repository.

News

  • Added app.WarningCode type aliased to int. You can create your own custom Warning Code enumeration on this type.
  • Added app.Warning object which implements error interface. You can create a formatted warning with its warning code, or if returning an error in a method or function, you could use app.NewWarningAsErr() function together with app.IsWarning()
  • Added app.IsHiddenFile() function which is OS-agnostic, in Unix/Linux/MacOS hidden files start with a leading . whereas in Windows it is a file attribute.

A nice capuccino would be nice LOL to help continue development of public packages in my repository.
