PulseMeter 0.6.3

PulseMeter 0.6.3 makes Coding Runway confidence more honest, clarifies the chart, and gives the floating window a proper minimize action without sacrificing live taskbar visibility.

Download

Download PulseMeter-0.6.3-win-x64-portable.zip, extract it, and run PulseMeter.exe.

The release also includes PulseMeter-0.6.3-win-x64-portable.zip.sha256 for integrity verification.

On the GitHub release page, use the portable ZIP above for the app. GitHub's automatic Source code (zip) and Source code (tar.gz) downloads are source archives for developers, not the Windows app.

New In 0.6.3

  • Coding Runway now reports runway confidence separately from activity-qualified baseline maturity. Medium-confidence forecasts use their modeled timing range instead of presenting one precise point as established fact.
  • Usage Momentum now describes differences as percentage points per hour, avoiding confusion with relative percentage changes and the separate wall-clock runway pace.
  • The chart legend now mirrors the rendered recorded usage, unmeasured gaps, forecast, sustainable pace, 100% limit, and reset time.
  • Compact and expanded headers include a dedicated Minimize action. PulseMeter respects a window intentionally minimized by the user instead of reopening it during foreground monitoring.
  • The Windows taskbar retains the live weekly usage badge. The notification-area icon remains the recognizable PulseMeter icon and exposes the current weekly percentage in its tooltip.

Reliability And Privacy

  • The forecast still uses local rate-limit observations, measurement-gap handling, recency weighting, and statistical uncertainty; this release improves how that evidence is communicated rather than claiming additional account knowledge.
  • No new account identity, plan, prompt, response, command, or project-content data is collected.
  • PulseMeter remains local-only and has no telemetry.

Minimum Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • No .NET install required for the portable release ZIP.
  • Codex CLI installed and signed in for live usage sync.
  • Internet access for Codex/OpenAI usage data.

@lorytek lorytek released this 16 Aug 13:49
6dcb0aa

PulseMeter 0.6.2

PulseMeter 0.6.2 makes handoff notes durable, keeps live weekly usage visible in Windows, and makes Coding Runway and Block Planner decisions easier to understand after startup or idle periods.

Download

Download PulseMeter-0.6.2-win-x64-portable.zip, extract it, and run PulseMeter.exe.

The release also includes PulseMeter-0.6.2-win-x64-portable.zip.sha256 for integrity verification.

On the GitHub release page, use the portable ZIP above for the app. GitHub's automatic Source code (zip) and Source code (tar.gz) downloads are source archives for developers, not the Windows app.

New In 0.6.2

  • Persistent Return Notes now support multiple handoff notes across app restarts. Note payloads are protected with Windows Data Protection for the current Windows user and remain local.
  • Coding Runway shows progressive activity-qualified evidence, clearer sustainable-pace colors, improved chart labels, and a smoother live momentum gauge.
  • Block Planner now uses an established activity-qualified baseline when a quiet restart makes the recent forecast temporarily low-confidence, while genuinely immature or risky forecasts remain conservative.
  • The running Windows taskbar button and notification-area icon can show the live weekly percentage using consistent green, blue, orange, and red status bands.
  • Project location actions now include Open in Codex alongside Explorer and Windows PowerShell after explicit folder confirmation.
  • Header usage visibility, selected-project actions, block-duration controls, keyboard navigation, startup guidance, and local shortcut publishing were refined.

Reliability And Privacy

  • Return Notes are validated, bounded, stored atomically, and never uploaded. The app continues to advise against entering secrets or customer data.
  • Stale, unavailable, syncing, and mock usage states fall back to the normal PulseMeter taskbar and tray presentation rather than showing an outdated percentage.
  • Project launch actions revalidate the selected path and use bounded Windows launch surfaces without storing arbitrary commands.
  • PulseMeter remains local-only, has no telemetry, and does not upload prompts, responses, paths, notes, or diagnostic snapshots.

Minimum Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • No .NET install required for the portable release ZIP.
  • Codex CLI installed and signed in for live usage sync.
  • Internet access for Codex/OpenAI usage data.

PulseMeter 0.6.1

Choose a tag to compare

@lorytek lorytek released this 12 Aug 13:44
7825a45

PulseMeter 0.6.1

PulseMeter 0.6.1 makes its momentum baseline more representative of real Codex activity and adds practical local tools for resuming work, diagnosing the app, and opening observed project locations safely.

Download

Download PulseMeter-0.6.1-win-x64-portable.zip, extract it, and run PulseMeter.exe.

The release also includes PulseMeter-0.6.1-win-x64-portable.zip.sha256 for integrity verification.

On the GitHub release page, use the portable ZIP above for the app. GitHub's automatic Source code (zip) and Source code (tar.gz) downloads are source archives for developers, not the Windows app.

New In 0.6.1

  • Activity-qualified Usage Momentum learns from completed hours with locally observed Codex activity or at least 0.1 percentage point of quota movement. Inactive zero-use hours remain available to Coding Runway but no longer dilute momentum.
  • Momentum evidence now persists in a versioned schema with safe migration, bounded retention, per-window reset cutoffs, and protection against overwriting newer state formats.
  • A memory-only Return Note keeps one project or task and its next step visible for the current PulseMeter run.
  • Optional quick access, tray confidence indicators, first-hide guidance, and improved keyboard navigation make the app easier to reach and operate.
  • Preview-first PulseMeter support snapshots and Desktop process snapshots provide privacy-bounded local diagnostics without uploading logs or message content.
  • Project location actions validate a user-confirmed folder before opening Explorer or starting Windows PowerShell in that location.

Reliability And Privacy

  • Stale or unavailable cached data no longer produces actionable-looking non-sync Needs Attention signals.
  • Failed baseline resets are not reported as successful, future schema files are preserved, and malformed activity events cannot create false local activity.
  • Activity evidence stores only UTC hour markers and coverage state. It does not retain prompts, responses, commands, paths, thread identifiers, token amounts, account identity, balances, or authentication data in the momentum model.
  • Support snapshots are previewed before copying and exclude raw Codex logs, prompts, command output, paths, session identifiers, and authentication material.
  • PulseMeter has no telemetry and does not upload local diagnostic measurements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • No .NET install required for the portable release ZIP.
  • Codex CLI installed and signed in for live usage sync.
  • Internet access for Codex/OpenAI usage data.

PulseMeter 0.6.0

Choose a tag to compare

@lorytek lorytek released this 05 Aug 21:35
cbac09f

PulseMeter 0.6.0

PulseMeter 0.6.0 turns Coding Runway into a more practical planning tool and strengthens the app's behavior across refreshes, restarts, and shutdown.

Download

Download PulseMeter-0.6.0-win-x64-portable.zip, extract it, and run PulseMeter.exe.

The release also includes PulseMeter-0.6.0-win-x64-portable.zip.sha256 for integrity verification.

On the GitHub release page, use the portable ZIP above for the app. GitHub's automatic Source code (zip) and Source code (tar.gz) downloads are source archives for developers, not the Windows app.

New In 0.6.0

  • Block Planner checks whether a selected coding block is likely to fit the current 5-hour or 7-day limit at the measured pace.
  • Window-appropriate options cover 15 minutes through 2 hours for the 5-hour limit and 1 hour through 1 day (8 hours) for the weekly limit.
  • Recovery watching can notify when a risky block becomes likely to fit or when the watched quota resets.
  • Usage Momentum stays neutral while learning, states exactly how much baseline data remains, and offers an accessible preview of the completed gauge.
  • Coding Runway keeps keyboard point selection through live refreshes, advances forecasts after idle time, retains recent samples across restarts, and uses an exact 24-hour weekly baseline.
  • Daily Usage now labels absent samples as Not recorded with neutral markers instead of turning missing data into zero usage.
  • Expired reset credits are removed from the available count immediately and the corrected state is retained across restarts.

Reliability And Privacy

  • Application startup and shutdown now serialize concurrent lifecycle work and wait for asynchronous service disposal without double-stopping resources.
  • Single-instance startup, local state recovery, sync cancellation, and Windows UI service boundaries have broader failure and concurrency coverage.
  • Diagnostics remain privacy-safe and do not expose local paths, account data, credentials, or Codex message content in user-facing errors.
  • PulseMeter has no telemetry and does not parse or display Codex prompt or message text.

Minimum Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • No .NET install required for the portable release ZIP.
  • Codex CLI installed and signed in for live usage sync.
  • Internet access for Codex/OpenAI usage data.

@lorytek lorytek released this 21 Jul 12:40
72a8b5d

PulseMeter 0.5.0

PulseMeter 0.5.0 adds a graph-first Coding Runway that turns live Codex limits into a clearer, persistent analytical view.

Download

Download PulseMeter-0.5.0-win-x64-portable.zip, extract it, and run PulseMeter.exe.

The release also includes PulseMeter-0.5.0-win-x64-portable.zip.sha256 for integrity verification.

On the GitHub release page, use the portable ZIP above for the app. GitHub's automatic Source code (zip) and Source code (tar.gz) downloads are source archives for developers, not the Windows app.

New In 0.5.0

  • Coding Runway shows actual usage, current pace, sustainable pace, estimated reach-limit timing, and reset timing on one graph.
  • The selector switches truthfully between the complete 5-hour and 7-day limit windows while keeping the other chart state hidden.
  • Usage momentum compares the current pace with the relevant baseline, using the 5-hour window median or median day for the weekly view.
  • Rate-limit history survives app restarts, restores recent local samples, and marks periods that were not measured instead of inventing data.
  • Statistical runway estimates use evidence-aware language and report either capacity remaining at reset or that the limit may be reached before reset.
  • Weekly Pace now sits above Coding Runway, duplicate alerts and redundant forecast panels are removed, and navigation follows the visible dashboard order.
  • The interface keeps a restrained Mac-inspired visual language with improved labels, hover details, accessibility descriptions, settings validation, and visible version information.

Reliability And Privacy

  • Local settings and runway observations use atomic persistence so interrupted writes do not silently discard the last good state.
  • Recent rate-limit history can be recovered from local Codex rollout metadata and is bounded to the windows needed by the app.
  • Coding Runway observations contain usage percentages, reset and observation times, rate-limit labels, and measurement gaps only.

Download

Download PulseMeter-0.4.0-win-x64-portable.zip, extract it, and run PulseMeter.exe.

The release also includes PulseMeter-0.4.0-win-x64-portable.zip.sha256 for integrity verification.

On the GitHub release page, use the portable ZIP above for the app. GitHub's automatic Source code (zip) and Source code (tar.gz) downloads are source archives for developers, not the Windows app.

New In 0.4.0

  • Project Health compares each local project's last 7 days with the prior 7 days and shows its attributed 30-day share.
  • Runway Forecast projects whether the selected rate-limit track may run out before reset from recent confirmed samples.
  • Rate Limits and Weekly Pace now present remaining capacity, reset timing, and pace guidance more clearly.
  • Project-level Burn Analysis replaces the retired chat-level and burn-moment tables.
  • Needs Attention is first in the dashboard and consolidates the signals that need action.
  • Navigation jumps sections to the top, supports customization, and behaves more reliably across window sizes and monitors.
  • Compact mode adapts to the available quota tracks and collapses when Codex becomes the foreground app on the same monitor.

Reliability And Privacy

  • Live sync confirmation handles reset-credit changes and suspicious quota regressions without trusting malformed or contradictory samples.
  • Burn Analysis groups local session token metadata by project and does not display chat titles or prompt text.
  • Project usage, Project Health, Burn Analysis, and Runway Forecast are local estimates and diagnostics, not billing-exact claims.
  • PulseMeter has no telemetry and does not parse or render Codex prompt/message bodies.

Minimum Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • No .NET install required for the portable release ZIP.
  • Codex CLI installed and signed in for live usage sync.
  • Internet access for Codex/OpenAI usage data.

The release also includes PulseMeter-0.3.1-win-x64-portable.zip.sha256 for integrity verification.

On the GitHub release page, use the portable ZIP above for the app. GitHub's automatic Source code (zip) and Source code (tar.gz) downloads are source archives for developers, not the Windows app.

Fixed In 0.3.1

  • Using a reset credit no longer leaves PulseMeter stuck on stale pre-reset quota values.
  • PulseMeter now reads the available reset-credit count before judging a sudden quota change.
  • A confirmed consumed credit may clear the short rolling limit while the weekly limit remains live.
  • Suspicious weekly drops, missing limits without a consumed credit, and empty responses still require confirmation and retain the last trusted values when necessary.

Minimum Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • No .NET install required for the portable release ZIP.
  • Codex CLI installed and signed in for live usage sync.
  • Internet access for Codex/OpenAI usage data.

PulseMeter 0.3.0

PulseMeter 0.3.0 makes live quota readings more trustworthy, improves navigation and multi-monitor behavior, and makes local token-burn evidence easier to understand.

Download

Download PulseMeter-0.3.0-win-x64-portable.zip, extract it, and run PulseMeter.exe.

On the GitHub release page, use the portable ZIP above for the app. GitHub also shows Source code (zip) and Source code (tar.gz) automatically for every release tag; those are source archives for developers, not the Windows app download.

New In 0.3.0

More Trustworthy Live Usage

  • PulseMeter confirms suspicious live quota readings before replacing the last trusted values.
  • If two readings still disagree, the app shows the last confirmed values with a stale status instead of presenting a likely regression as live data.
  • Normal refreshes reuse the local Codex app-server connection, avoiding unnecessary process churn while keeping reconnects available for errors and confirmation reads.

Better Navigation And Window Behavior

  • Expanded navigation now provides direct section jumps and top-aligned destinations in the content area.
  • Needs Attention is easier to reach, Rate Limits Daily is presented as Weekly Pace, and Customize has a dedicated persistent menu entry.
  • Keyboard navigation and focus behavior are more predictable.
  • Window sizing and placement remain usable when moving between monitors or when the available work area changes.

Clearer Burn Analysis

  • Repeated low-level token updates are grouped into per-minute burn moments so one chat does not fill the table with near-identical rows.
  • Duplicate cumulative token records are ignored before local attribution is calculated.
  • Burn Analysis remains local and estimated; PulseMeter does not parse or render Codex prompt/message bodies.

Adaptive Compact HUD

  • When Codex returns only the weekly quota, the weekly-only compact layout keeps its remaining value and reset time on one aligned row.
  • When both the 5-hour and weekly quotas are available, the established two-limit layout is preserved.
  • Weekly pacing uses weekday names, compact quota accents remain visible, and status/actions keep their reserved space.

Documentation

  • README screenshots now show the current overview, Burn Analysis, project attribution, and compact HUD.
  • Download links, package commands, and release metadata now point to 0.3.0.

Minimum Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • No .NET install required for the portable release ZIP.
  • Codex CLI installed and signed in for live usage sync.
  • Internet access for Codex/OpenAI usage data.

  • The 5-hour limit shows its local reset hour.
  • The weekly limit shows its reset weekday and local time.
  • The compact tray uses subtle separators and keeps the expand and close buttons in a reserved action area.
  • Long quota and sync text no longer clips the compact status strip.
