Proceed to checkout displays Login popup even after logged in

Clicking Proceed to checkout button displays a signin/create account popup window in Magento v2.2.6

Examples (*)

The checkout page is not loaded. Instead a popup sign window is displayed.

Proposed solution

After clicking Proceed to checkout button, it should redirect to the checkout page.
