Cannot use image from media gallery in product creation

Preconditions and environment

• Magento version 2.4.7-p3
  Product edit interface doesn't provide a way to access the media gallery. I wanted to reuse the same images in multiple products and this makes it impossible.

Steps to reproduce

1. Create a new product
2. Go to Images and Videos Tab
3. There is no way to open media gallery. Only "Browse to find or drag image here" exists, which opens a file selection on local filesystem

Expected result

Expected a way to select images from the gallery for the product

Actual result

Currently there is no way to select images from media gallery for a product.
