Unstable
Unstable build 2026-10-01 16:05 UTC
Version 3.1.0.22 (run 22).
Automated build from master. Not tested on a vehicle.
Installed unstable builds update themselves from this channel. The updater
accepts an APK only over https from a GitHub host, and only if it is signed with
the same certificate as the running app — otherwise it deletes the file. Install
is still a manual tap.
The unstable id is com.evsuite.swipe.unstable, so it installs beside a
stable build. Both cannot be the default home at once — pick one in Android
settings.
Changelog
⚠️ Breaking — existing users must install once more
- Both channels now run as the system uid (
android.uid.system), declared in the main
manifest as EVTasker and EVProfile declare it. Android refuses to update an install across
a uid change, so this version does not replace an existing stable install: uninstall the
old one, install this one, grant the overlay and accessibility permissions again, and set
the swipe zones again. Settings do not carry over.
Changed
- The privileged build is no longer the one nobody drives.
android.uid.systemused to be
declared in the unstable manifest alone: the channel people install was an ordinary app and
the channel that gets tested was a system one, differing in the single property that decides
what the app is allowed to do. Stable is still offline by construction — no network
permission, no updater code — and the app still claims no vehicle permission of any kind.

v3.1.0
EVSwipe v3.1.0
Manual, offline installation. This build embeds no auto-updater and
contacts no server: the stable flavor has neither the updater code nor the
INTERNET permission.
Install
Copy the APK to a USB stick, open the car's Files app and tap it. Then set it
as the default home from Android settings.
Note
Signed with the EVSuite platform key. If you are coming from a build signed
with the old author key, uninstall the previous version first — Android refuses
an in-place update across a key change.

v3.0.1
EVSwipe v3.0.1
Manual, offline installation. This build embeds no auto-updater and
contacts no server: the stable flavor has neither the updater code nor the
INTERNET permission.

Changelog
Fixed
- The overlay service starts on Android 14. A foreground service must declare a type
since API 34, and this one declared none: the platform refuses such a service outright, so
the swipe strips and the back button never appeared. It now runs asspecialUse— what it
actually is, an overlay owner and nothing else — and the lint warning that had been
suppressed rather than answered is gone with it. - The service notification is visible again.
POST_NOTIFICATIONSwas never declared, so
from Android 13 on the only sign the overlay was running was dropped silently. It is asked
for once the overlay and accessibility permissions are in place, and refusing it costs the
notification and nothing else.
