MovieBox Android 0.9.0 — first public build

The terminal client's engine behind a native Compose interface. No accounts, no telemetry: everything stays on the device.

What it does

  • Browse MovieBox, 4KHDHub and Dramachi — home decks, search, details with seasons and episodes, and every source per resolution
  • Plays in Media3 with the CDN auth headers replayed: subtitles, playback speed, chapters, picture-in-picture, background playback
  • Live TV — add an M3U playlist by URL or file and watch its channels
  • Downloads with live progress and resume, even when the signed URL expires. Finished files land in the public Movies/MovieBox folder and in your gallery on Android 10 and newer; on Android 9 and below they stay in the app's own Movies folder
  • Favourites, watch history and continue watching, plus provider switching
  • Bengali, Hindi and Spanish interface, a colour scheme picker (including OLED black), layouts that adapt to tablets and large text
  • Settings → Copy diagnostic info when reporting a problem

Install

  • app-release.apk — arm64-v8a phones and x86_64 emulators, Android 7.0+ (minSdk 24)
  • Allow "install unknown apps" when prompted; future versions update in place (stable signing key)
  • app-debug.apk is attached for adb debugging — different signature, so uninstall the release build before switching

Known limitations

  • The Bengali and Hindi translations have not had a native-speaker review yet; corrections are coming
  • Casting and two extra providers (toonplay, cinejoy/flixer) are not in this build
