Troubleshooting

If a conversion fails, the tool keeps the item selected and writes the error to the log file.

Common causes

Missing admin consent for Graph scopes

The OnPremisesSyncBehavior scopes need admin consent. Grant it in the Entra admin center under Enterprise applications, then reconnect.

PIM role activated after sign-in

Press W to disconnect, then connect again so the token includes the new role.

Sync client too old

The conversion succeeds in the cloud but the sync engine does not honor it. Upgrade Connect Sync or Cloud Sync to the versions listed in Prerequisites.

Rollback stuck at Pending

Run Start-ADSyncSyncCycle on the sync server, then refresh the view in the tool.

Group rollback blocked by cloud members

Remove the cloud-only users from the group first, or type ROLLBACK to confirm you accept losing them.

False failure on group or contact conversion

Version 1.5.9 fixed a bug where the tool reported failure even though Graph had applied the change. If you see this, upgrade to the latest release.

Where to look

  • SOA-Manager_<timestamp>.log in the working folder
  • SOA-Backups\ for the pre-conversion snapshot
  • The Log tab inside the tool

Still stuck

Open an issue on GitHub with the log file and the exact key sequence you used.
