Swift string and buffer conveniences are now available alongside the low-level simdutf API:
- Copy, validate, repair, and append UTF-8, UTF-16, and UTF-32 strings.
- Borrow scoped contiguous UTF-16 and UTF-32 buffers.
- Validate and copy ASCII, convert Latin-1, encode/decode Base64, and detect Unicode encodings.
Each API is gated by its required SwiftPM traits, and disabled native features remain compiled out. Swift 6.1 and older Apple deployment targets remain supported. Upstream simdutf is still pinned to v9.2.1; Dependabot now checks for submodule updates.
Verified with all 13 feature configurations, Swift 6.1 Linux and macOS CI, Address Sanitizer, and iOS Simulator Release builds.
