ShellX Cut v0.6.105
ShellX Cut is an agent-first, local-first video editor where humans and agents
work through the same reviewable timeline operations. This is the first public
tester release.
Highlights
- Project-first onboarding: Cut opens on Projects, and dropping video, audio,
or an image with no project open creates a project and places the media on its
timeline. Timeline composition follows the first video; delivery settings
stay with export. - One public editing contract: 260 verbs across 32 domains, available through
the local REST API, CLI proxy, and generated MCP tools. - Reviewable agent editing with append-only operations, checkpoints, diffs,
guarded revert, render receipts, deterministic checks, and sampled review. - Refined Settings and Library surfaces for setup, storage, agent control,
media organization, health, relink, and growing cross-project collections. - Native editable Generate plus verified ShellX Motion round trips, live
caller-scoped Motion job status, and last-good rendered fallbacks. - Transcription, captions, text-based edits, dubbing, diarization, recording,
verification, batch delivery, social bundles, and common interchange/export
formats. - Signed Windows installer and updater payload, notarized Apple-silicon macOS
build, and Debian/RPM packages for Linux. - A disclosed GitHub update check, enabled by default and switchable under
Settings > Storage & privacy > Network activity.

Important tester notes
- Cut's Debug API and MCP proxy are loopback-only by default and intentionally
have no API token. Do not expose them directly to a network. - Optional subscription CLI agents and providers use the user's own installed
tools and credentials. Agent review/revert is not an operating-system
sandbox; readSECURITY.mdbefore enabling unattended control. - Live camera capture is not included in this release. Existing camera media
can still be imported and used by recording auto-edit workflows. - Provider-backed generation, dubbing, review, and local AI runtimes are
optional and may require separate setup.
