This document explains how to build and test an Excel Add-In for comnsense.
Solution for the add-in: comnsense/comnsense.sln.
If you have a 2010 version of MS Office, you need to edit comnsense.csproj. Search for OfficeVersion and change Office version and path from 15.0 to 14.0:
<ProjectProperties HostName="Excel" HostPackage="{29A7B9D7-A7F1-4328-8EF0-6B2D1A56B2C1}" OfficeVersion="14.0" VstxVersion="4.0" ApplicationType="Excel" Language="cs" TemplatesPath="" DebugInfoExeName="#Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\InstallRoot\Path#excel.exe" DebugInfoCommandLine="/x" AddItemTemplatesGuid="{51063C3A-E220-4D12-8922-BDA915ACD783}" />
- Build the solution. Nuget "restores" the packages listed in your
packages\repositories.configfile. It includes the dlls for the required libraries in the foldercomnsense\packages\ZeroMQ.4.1.0.15\lib\net40\i386. - Visual studio will fail to find dlls in
i386andamd64folders in the root of the project. Copy them over there and update the settings of files to "Copy if newer".
The installation package is generated with "Build -> Publish comnsense". This will create a folder called "Publish" that has a setup.exe file. Distribute this folder to a test machine and run it.
