Vertical mixing

Bus view built for narrow screens

The bus screen now defaults to a vertical layout on phones and small tablets:

• Level fader and essentials stay in a side strip; processing tabs sit beside them instead of below.
• From and To lists use vertical fader columns — closer to a real strip layout when you are holding the device portrait.
• Sends follow the same vertical pattern when routing from a channel bus.
• Column spacing adapts to screen width so strips stay readable without wasting space.

You can still use the classic horizontal layout where it fits; the app picks sensible defaults per device.

From strip previews

While adjusting a source in From, tap processing controls to open shared preview dialogs — gate, EQ, and compressor — without leaving the strip. A gate mini chart gives quick visual feedback next to the fader.

Faster navigation

Keyboard shortcuts

Desktop users get a full hotkey system:

• Go to Home — jump back to the bus list from anywhere.
• Bus tabs — cycle or jump to Input, Reception, Sends, EQ, Gate, Compressor, and FX.
• Faders and pan — focus-roam keys move between level sliders and pan controls without the mouse.
• Reception — roam across mute, solo, and level on incoming sources from the keyboard.

Open Settings → Hotkeys to see every action and remap keys to your workflow. Bindings are saved in your app settings.

Active scene in the header

The currently loaded desk scene shows in the header while you are connected. Save a scene faster — no digging through menus mid-show.

Scene lists were reorganized so device scenes (mixer slots) and app scenes (vault) are easier to tell apart.

Smarter lists

• Input list shows which buses each channel is assigned to.
• Tap a bus by name in lists when the desk has custom labels.
• Bus output lists match the layout of the main outputs list.
• When nothing is sending or receiving, you get a clear empty state instead of a blank screen.

Connect and first run

A clearer connect screen

Connecting to your desk got a full pass:

• UDP errors are easier to read — what failed and what to try next.
• Pick language before you connect (English, Spanish, or German).
• Theme toggle and logo on the welcome screen.
• Device status visible where it helps during troubleshooting.

The first time you connect after install, MMC can ask which bus layout you prefer (vertical vs horizontal) so the default matches your device before you open a mix.

General bar and tabs

• Polarity, stereo link, and level stay in a compact general area visible on every tab.
• On very small landscape screens, bus tabs collapse into a header dropdown so nothing overflows.
• Bus tabs in the header — less scrolling to switch processing.

Every entity type updated

Input, output, FX, DCA, mute group, scene, and vault views were brought in line with the same layout patterns — consistent headers, general strips, and filter bars.

Appearance and wizard

• Appearance (theme, UI scale, accent) opens as a dialog — change look-and-feel without leaving your place.
• The setup wizard and bus navigation are configurable; the bus edit control moved to a more predictable spot.
• Wizard steps use a calmer visual style; demo mode improved for trying MMC without hardware.

Presets and processing

• Compressor presets no longer force a gain value you did not ask for.
• Bus FX reset returns gain to 0 with the effect active, matching desk expectations.
• Stereo-linked names read more clearly in lists and routing buttons.

Stays in sync with the desk

MMC is more efficient when the network is busy, you jump between buses quickly, or you leave the app on your phone and come back.

Scene load and save

Loading a saved scene should feel predictable:

• One progress dialog for Fresh Start and scene loads — with a stable time estimate, not a second mystery waiting phase.
• App scenes wait for the desk to catch up before applying, so what you saved is what you get.

Sends and reception

Routing behaves more like you expect:

• Stereo-linked routes show clear combined labels (e.g. Aux 1 & 2) on From/To buttons.
• Secondary buses handle stereo link more naturally when you turn a send on.

Bus view improvements

General bar

Polarity and stereo link moved out of the Input tab and into the general bar — left of the level fader. Aux buses can link L+R without hunting through tabs, and the essentials stay visible on every tab.

Navigation and shortcuts

• Tab history — browser back and forward work on the bus screen, and the app remembers your last processing tab (EQ, Gate, Compressor) when you move between buses.
• Reception shortcuts — on tablets and wider screens, reception rows offer quick links to Input, EQ, Compressor, and Gate on the source bus.
• Pan order — pan controls in Reception follow a consistent left-to-right order.

Lists and pages

• Single-column lists on wide screens — reception, sends, and bus lists use the full width of the screen instead of squeezing into two narrow columns.
• Unified list layout — vault, scenes, automix, and other lists share the same spacing, footer, and filter bar.
• Empty states — a search with no matches or a page that does not exist shows something helpful instead of an empty screen.
• Scene list titles — the header distinguishes device scenes (mixer slots) from app scenes (vault-backed) at a glance.
• Automix respects UI scale — bus labels in the automix list follow your text size setting.
• Meter slider readout — the numeric dB value on faders appears and hides instantly when you drag or hover, without a distracting animation.

Mobile

• Android safe areas — menus and fixed headers respect the status bar and navigation bar; nothing hides under system chrome.
• iOS layout fixes — dropdowns, headers, and spacing behave better on iPhone and iPad.

Forms and controls

• Unified form controls — settings and rename dialogs look and feel like the rest of the mixer UI.
• Inline validation — required fields (scene name, IP, port, and others) show clear errors in red when something is missing.
• Header menus — title dropdowns no longer clip awkwardly on hover.
