v1.0.4 — Patch both TileCollision AND SlopeCollision

Choose a tag to compare

@maxdp66 maxdp66 released this 19 Apr 23:24

SlopeCollision (not just TileCollision) has the same Math.Abs(Velocity.X) tolerance bug.

If SlopeCollision's check fails, the player never gets positioned on the slope surface. Then TileCollision treats the slope as a solid wall and blocks horizontal movement.

This version patches BOTH methods. v1.0.3 only patched TileCollision, which wasn't enough.

v1.0.3 — Fixed tolerance instead of speed-dependent

Choose a tag to compare

@maxdp66 maxdp66 released this 19 Apr 23:14

Fixes entities falling through slopes in v1.0.2.

Root cause found: The slope pass-through check uses Math.Abs(Velocity.X) as tolerance. When the player stops on a slope, Velocity.X = 0, tolerance disappears, and the check fails by ~1 ULP on ARM64.

Fix: Replace Math.Abs(Velocity.X) with a fixed 1-pixel tolerance in both slope type checks. The check is now consistent regardless of player speed.

v1.0.0–v1.0.2 users: Please update. Previous versions used flawed approaches.

v1.0.2 — Direct IL patch, no more false collisions

@maxdp66 maxdp66 released this 19 Apr 23:10

Completely rewritten fix. Instead of hooking TileCollision from outside (which broke floor collisions), the mod now directly patches the broken comparison inside TileCollision using an IL hook.

What changed: The broken <= comparison in the slope pass-through check is patched to add 1 pixel of tolerance. This fixes the root cause without affecting any other collision behavior.

v1.0.0/v1.0.1 users: Uninstall those versions — they had a fundamental flaw in the approach.

v1.0.1 — Fix falling animation

Choose a tag to compare

@maxdp66 maxdp66 released this 19 Apr 23:04

Fixes falling animation and floating issues from v1.0.0.

What changed: Instead of nudging position to clear the collision, the fix now simply returns the original velocity when a false slope collision is detected. No position correction = no falling animation.

Install: Same as before — drop ArmSlopeFix.tmod in your Mods folder.

v1.0.0 — ARM64 Slope Fix

Choose a tag to compare

@maxdp66 maxdp66 released this 19 Apr 22:43

Initial release: fixes ARM64 float precision bug in Collision.TileCollision.

What's fixed:

  • Players can now walk up slopes left-to-right on ARM64 macOS
  • NPCs and mobs no longer get stuck on slopes when server runs as ARM64

Installation: Copy to your Mods folder. Works on both client and server.

Requires: tModLoader 1.4.4.9+ (2026.02)
