Linux Testing Preview — Testers and Feedback Requested

These are pre-release Linux x64 testing builds of Work Day with God 1.2.2. They have passed automated, package-installation, dependency, and container startup checks, but they still need testing on real Linux desktops before being promoted as stable.

Please install or run the package for your distribution and leave feedback—even if everything works perfectly.

Choose your package

• AppImage (x86_64) — portable build for many Linux distributions. Run chmod +x Work-Day-with-God-1.2.2-linux-x86_64.AppImage before launching.
• DEB (amd64) — Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and related distributions. Install with sudo apt install ./Work-Day-with-God-1.2.2-linux-amd64.deb.
• RPM (x86_64) — Fedora, RHEL, openSUSE, and related distributions. On Fedora, install with sudo dnf install ./Work-Day-with-God-1.2.2-linux-x86_64.rpm.

What we need tested

• Installation, first launch, relaunch, and uninstall
• App icon, launcher entry, taskbar/dock grouping, and window behavior
• System tray behavior, minimize/close-to-tray, and restoring the window
• Notifications, reminder timing, notification sound, and “Remind me later”
• Launch-at-login and start-in-tray settings
• Today, History, and Future Devotionals navigation
• Completed-reading indicators, favourites, streaks, and saved reading position
• Settings persistence after closing and reopening the app
• Light/dark/system themes, scaling, and Wayland/X11 behavior

Please include this with your feedback

• Linux distribution and version
• Desktop environment, such as GNOME, KDE Plasma, Cinnamon, or Xfce
• Whether the session is Wayland or X11 (echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE)
• Package tested: AppImage, DEB, or RPM
• What worked, what failed, and exact reproduction steps
• Screenshots and terminal output when available

Current validation

• All 24 automated tests passed.
• DEB installation and startup were smoke-tested in a clean Ubuntu 24.04 container.
• RPM installation and startup were smoke-tested in a clean Fedora 42 container.
• AppImage structure, extraction, desktop identity, and bundled application contents were validated.

These checks do not replace testing on a real Linux desktop. This preview is x64 only, is unsigned, and should not yet be treated as the final stable Linux release.
