| FreeBSD 15 (amd64) | OSD-OS-v0.0.26-freebsd-amd64.pkg |
A FreeBSD package: the app, with FinalBurn Neo's core built for FreeBSD; Qt 6, SDL2 and mpv are FreeBSD's own packages | As root, its packages, then the app: pkg install -y qt6-base qt6-declarative qt6-svg sdl2 minizip mpv and pkg add OSD-OS-v0.0.26-freebsd-amd64.pkg: https://github.com/mehmetraif/OSD-OS/blob/v0.0.26/INSTALL.md#on-freebsd-amd64. Updates: the next release's package the same way |

Unzip it anywhere, put mpv beside it and run osdos.exe: https://github.com/mehmetraif/OSD-OS/blob/v0.0.26/INSTALL.md#on-windows-x64. Updates: Settings → Update names the new zip, whose osdos folder takes the old one's place |
The macOS build is not notarized, so macOS refuses to open it the first time: then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway (or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/osdos.app before opening it).
On FreeBSD and OpenBSD, the Arcade module plays in the system's own MAME and RetroArch packages, installed apart (mame, retroarch). The packages are built, installed and started in FreeBSD and OpenBSD virtual machines; they haven't been tried on a BSD computer yet.
Tested on a Raspberry Pi 4 and a Raspberry Pi 5 (8 GB): the Pi 4 as a TV, the Pi 5 in a JAMMA arcade cabinet, and LAN Play between the two; the Windows build on a Windows 11 PC. Each file's SHA-256 digest is beside it under Assets.

- RetroAchievements' hardcore mode runs in FinalBurn Neo, patched sets disallowed before each game
- Window Mode leaves full screen before it frames and places the window, and its row follows F11

What's New
- A Website line in About, osdos.tv, above Source
- The app builds for Windows (x64, MSVC), with a workflow that uploads it to try
- The app builds on FreeBSD and OpenBSD, with workflows that build and test it there
Changelog
- About and the credits name the pictures' sources by their authors: progetto-SNAPS by AntoPISA, Arcade Database by motoschifo, RetroAchievements for its pictures and badges too
- ArcadeDB asked without use_parent, which its sixth release dropped
- How to build OSD/OS on Windows, in BUILDING.md and the wiki
- The Windows build targets Windows 11, and keeps vcpkg's packages when a run is cancelled
- The script launcher's SIGTERM, and System Information's interfaces, compile on Windows
- A release's files say which system each is for
- The macOS update helper's script has no "/*" for MSVC to take for a comment
- The Windows build's vcpkg cache keeps one key across runner images, and the BSD builds queue instead of cancelling
- The Windows build links with the app's own main
- The regression tests pass on FreeBSD and OpenBSD
- How to build OSD/OS on FreeBSD and OpenBSD, in BUILDING.md and the wiki
- The BSD builds list the calls that ran on a view already torn down
- The FreeBSD and OpenBSD builds count for the pull request
Bug Fixes
- The Windows build finds vcpkg's packages under the MSVC environment
- The lobby and game details pages leave their lists alone once their Loader lets them go

OSD/OS v0.0.19
What's New
- An online game plays with the host's controller layout, and every player of the host has a port
- The Arcade screen shows the machine's own high scores for a game without a RetroAchievements leaderboard
- Game pictures from progetto-SNAPS where RetroAchievements has none, and a Game Pictures page to download every game's
- Hide Hacks and Bootlegs in Settings → Arcade
- Pixel art and ASCII art on the landing and setup pages, and a clearer way in
- The Arcade screen lists everything known of a room in place of its picture
Changelog
- Add follow-up Pi reliability and Arcade review
- OSD/OS is tested on a Pi 4 as a TV and a Pi 5 in a JAMMA cabinet, with LAN Play between them
- The README's credits open with 240-MP, which OSD/OS grew out of
- The website moves to osdos.tv
- Less work on the GUI thread in the menus and the Arcade screen
- The scan's review: port 1 alone for a game whose players aren't known, the remap written whole, the scaling measured per session
- The pictures review: a paused request stays unasked after a key change, ArcadeDB asked a moment after a game is shown, the records written in one go, hidden bootlegs off the tree's lists
- The arcade tests never ask the real ArcadeDB
Bug Fixes
- Install.sh swaps a release in safely, checks GitHub's SHA-256 and updates a kept service's helpers
- The menus answer in time while a film plays behind them
- A game MAME could not start adds no play time, and a RetroArch that never ran keeps the RetroAchievements password
- A Plex item on its resume prompt no longer reports another video's progress
- An update whose archive could not be extracted is offered again, not an Install that applies nothing
- The image's downloads are tried again after a connection the server reset
- A RetroAchievements pause or guard page no longer passes for a refused Web API key
