NOTE: seNorge2 is no longer available via thredds.met.no. Please use seNorge_2018 or MET Nordic analysis.

seNorge2 is a collection of observational gridded datasets over Norway for: daily total precipitation; daily mean temperature. The time period covers 1957 to the present day, and the data are presented over a high-resolution terrain-following grid with 1 km spacing.

The dataset is described in the journal papers:

  • Lussana, C. , Tveito, O. E. and Uboldi, F. (2018), Three‐dimensional spatial interpolation of 2 m temperature over Norway. Q.J.R. Meteorol. Soc., 144: 344-364. doi:10.1002/qj.3208
  • Lussana, C., Saloranta, T., Skaugen, T., Magnusson, J., Tveito, O. E., and Andersen, J.: seNorge2 daily precipitation, an observational gridded dataset over Norway from 1957 to the present day, Earth Syst. Sci. Data, 10, 235-249, https://doi.org/10.5194/essd-10-235-2018, 2018.

seNorge2 sub-versions are:

  • version 2.1. Time range is 1957 to 2015 and it includes ECA&D as a data source DOI
