New

  • Instant track maps from your installed games. Grid Dash now scans your Steam libraries at startup and imports a clean track map for every Assetto Corsa track you have installed — mods and layouts included — so the Logbook is full before you've driven a lap. Maps you've driven are never overwritten, and a "Scan now" button picks up freshly installed content.
  • World Map (free). A new image-based map component for open-world games — American/Euro Truck Simulator, Forza Horizon and friends. Pin your own map image to world coordinates and watch your marker drive across it, with follow and zoom.
  • Map images in the Creator. Canvas widgets gain an image layer: place a calibrated, world-pinned picture behind any layer stack — the foundation the World Map is built from.
  • Corner list you can curate. Every mapped track now lists its corners — rename them, merge a corner detected as two, delete false positives, and your edits stick. Click any corner to highlight its exact stretch on the map, with a zoomed close-up panel so even a hairpin on a 20-km road is easy to inspect.
  • Maps browse by game. The Logbook's map browser now starts with a game picker and shows clean track names underneath, instead of one long mixed list.
  • More games get instant track maps. The install-time track map import that started with Assetto Corsa now also covers rFactor 2, Le Mans Ultimate, AMS1/rFactor 1, and BeamNG.drive, so more of your library shows up with a map before you've ever driven it.
  • Custom Maps. Start a capture from the Logbook's map browser to build a brand new, independently named map from your own driving, without touching the track's normal learned map. Rename or delete them any time; for now they stay local to your PC.
  • A real map point editor. "Edit points…" now opens a dedicated window with mouse-wheel zoom and click-drag pan, so you can precisely drag, add, remove, and smooth points, select several at once, and undo mistakes, even on tracks too big to edit comfortably before.
  • Split a corner in two. The corner list's Merge button now has a partner: Split breaks one detected corner back into two, for when detection lumped a chicane or double-apex together.

Improved

  • Track maps learn lap by lap. Outlines are now built by averaging your laps together — every lap makes the line cleaner, partial maps work (and can be shared) before you've covered the whole track, and there's no more "Mark Complete" step.
  • Works even when the game doesn't say where you are. In games that don't report lap position (notably Assetto Corsa), Grid Dash now works it out from your lap distance — so lap-averaged maps, corner detection, and the Delta Trace all work there too.
  • Far better corner detection. Hairpins no longer hide a track's faster sweepers, continuously winding roads split into their real corners instead of one endless "turn", and chicanes are numbered as their two elements (merge them back with one click).
  • Local + community maps blend. With both available, the served map is a 50/50 blend of your driving and the community's — and you can choose which one draws on top when comparing them.
  • Roomier map browser. The map page is now two columns: corner list scrolling on the left, maps pinned on the right — no more scrolling back up to see the track.
  • BeamNG track maps correct themselves faster. The instant maps for BeamNG.drive start from a rougher guess than other games; they now weight that guess low, so your first real lap already straightens the outline out instead of averaging slowly against it over several laps.

Fixed

  • Track maps no longer draw stacked duplicate outlines (and duplicate corner markers) after driving multiple laps.
  • "Re-check community map" now updates the panel the moment the download finishes, instead of requiring you to click away and back.

New

  • Rate community creations. Give layouts, components, and themes a thumbs up or down in the Community browser. A creation's rating reflects real satisfaction, and the score gently favors fresh, actively-used creations - so great new work gets a fair shot at the top alongside long-standing favorites.
  • Featured shows the best of the month. The Featured tab now highlights the top-rated creations (not just the most-downloaded), so it showcases what the community actually values.
  • See how your creations are doing. Community → My Submissions now shows each shared creation's downloads, rating, and vote count at a glance.
  • Official GridDash creations. First-party themes, layouts, and components now appear in the community library with a ✓ Official badge, clearly distinct from user submissions.
  • Built-ins update without reinstalling. Included themes, layouts, and gauges can now receive fixes and improvements through the community library - subscribers get them right away, and everyone else with the next app update.
  • Delta Trace (Premium). A turn-by-turn lap-time graph that shows exactly where on the circuit you're gaining or losing time against your session best, last lap, or personal best - green where you're beating your reference line, red where you're behind, with your previous lap shown as a ghost underneath.
  • Corners learned from your driving. Grid Dash detects the corners of any track from how you actually drive it - no track database needed. The Delta Trace shades each turn, numbers them, and shows a per-turn gain/loss chip row; weak-spot markers call out where you lost the most time.
  • Turn Delta (Premium). A compact panel with the corner you're in, how this turn is going versus last lap, your reference lap time, and the live lap delta.
  • Corner Map (Premium). A mini-map that follows you corner to corner, highlighting the shape of the turn you're approaching on the learned track outline.
  • Personal bests that stick. Your best lap's full time-trace is remembered per game, track, and car - so Delta Trace can compare against your all-time reference the moment you're back on track.
  • Session recordings. Record your sessions as lightweight telemetry clips - automatically (with per-track splitting) or with a button/keyboard binding - and replay them into any dashboard, on any device, exactly as they happened. Replays loop with a full player bar: pause, scrub, playback speed, and one-click back to live.
  • The Logbook. A new tab in the plugin collecting your driving data: every recording with its stats (track, car, laps, best lap, disk usage) and a full track-map browser. The dashboard's settings gain a matching History tab with your recent sessions, most-played track, and best lap.
  • Track map browser. See every learned track outline with its detected corners numbered on the map, compare it against the community's version, sync the community map locally, tidy up stray segments, or clear a map to re-learn it. Maps are tagged with the game they came from.
  • Share your track maps (Premium). Contribute a finished outline to the community map library with one click - re-sharing after more laps updates your contribution, and every contribution makes the community's maps more accurate.
  • Export replays to video. Turn any session replay into a shareable .webm video straight from the player bar.
  • Triggers. Build your own if-this-then-that rules from the dashboard settings: when a condition you write becomes true (low fuel, a gap closing, rain starting), show a banner, play a chirp, or switch pages - with cooldowns and a mute-in-pit option.
  • SimHub replay integration. Playing a SimHub replay now drives every connected dashboard live (clearly marked as a replay, and never touching your personal bests), and SimHub replays can be browsed - and experimentally recorded/played - from the Logbook.
  • Creator: design with real telemetry. The Component Creator's preview can now be driven by one of your recorded clips instead of simulated data, so widgets are tuned against real motion.
  • Build your own canvas widgets from layers. The Component Creator's canvas element is now a layered scene: combine track paths, delta traces, turn bands, chip rows, markers, radar rings, and grids in any order. One-click presets insert the exact layer stacks Radar, the Track Map, the Delta Trace, and the Corner Map are built from - remix them freely.
  • Track Map authoring unlocked. The learned track outline, opponents layer, player marker, and follow/zoom/rotate view can now all be authored from the Creator toolbox.

Changed

  • Tidier creator badges. "Featured Creator" and "Monthly Winner" now show as small icons next to a creator's name instead of large tags, so a creator with both stays compact.

Improved

  • The Creator exposes more layout and styling controls: grid column span, bar corner radius, gauge grow-only auto-range, custom "no data" fallback text, and text outline shadow color.
  • The formula autocomplete includes the new delta/turn variables and per-corner tire projections.
  • Release notes in the Updates tab now refresh when new versions are published.
  • Community maps you've already downloaded stay usable even if your subscription lapses.
  • Community maps for a track you're viewing are now checked for automatically - no button pressing.
  • Recording storage is under your control: keep the newest 20/50/100, cap by disk space, or keep everything.
  • The auto-update toggle for downloaded community content now lives in one place (Updates tab).

Fixed

  • Security and reliability hardening for the local dashboard server.
  • Your dashboard setup is now saved crash-safely with an automatic backup, so a power cut or crash mid-save can no longer reset your layouts and settings.
  • One sleeping phone or dropped Wi-Fi connection can no longer freeze telemetry for every other connected screen.
  • Kiosk discovery no longer stops working for new devices after another device disconnects uncleanly.
  • Large dashboard saves from the browser are handled reliably.
  • Dashboards left open while the PC is off now retry their connection more gently (easier on phone batteries).

@mikedmor mikedmor released this 02 Jul 16:55

New

  • In-app updates. Update Grid Dash from the plugin's Updates tab - a progress bar downloads the new version and SimHub closes and reopens automatically to finish installing. No separate installer window. You can preview what's new before installing, browse a release history*, and reinstall the current version if you ever need to repair it.
  • Pre-release builds. Opt in from the Updates tab (or the installer) to try early builds before they're released; pre-release notes show in the release history. Opt back out any time to return to stable.
  • My Submissions tab. Your shared creations and their review status now live in their own Community → My Submissions tab, with the posting guidelines shown inline.
  • Report a listing. Flag a community creation for moderation right from its card.
  • Community content updates. See and apply newer versions of the components, layouts, and themes you've downloaded, with an optional automatic-update toggle - plus a one-click undo right after installing a creation if it isn't what you wanted.
  • Creator badges. Monthly Winner / Featured Creator badges appear next to a creator's name on listings.
  • Store review. Community submissions are now reviewed before they go live; you'll see the status and any rejection reason under My Submissions.
  • Alerts self-test and a distinct pit-lane alert (separate from the pit-limiter banner), with alert placement (8 positions) and clearer mini/wide styles.
  • Dark-mode hardware action. Bind a wheel/box button in SimHub to toggle True Dark on every connected dashboard.
  • Track Map options. Global map type (static / animated) and zoom, and a full-screen race-flag tint.
  • Delta reference. Choose whether the delta compares to your session best or your all-time best (via SimHub's persisted best).
  • Idle screen logo. The Grid Dash logo now shows by default when you haven't set a custom idle icon (toggle in Idle Screen settings).

Changed

  • Pit Wall is now per-layout. Enable it on the layouts you want and insert predefined Leaderboard / Telemetry / Map pages directly in the editor (the old global screen toggles are gone).
  • Android: app links added in Settings, plus kiosk / home-screen improvements.
  • Free default layouts now use the Inputs widget instead of the locked input graph, and the editor gives clearer guidance when a screen is full.
  • Clearer expired-subscription messaging across Community - why browsing works while downloads, votes, and publishing lock, and how to renew. Compatibility warnings now appear before installing a creation that needs a newer app version or premium widgets. Need activation or billing help? Contact options are shown even when you can't activate.
  • Idle-screen image picker now shows a thumbnail and automatically resizes oversized images.

Fixes & improvements

  • Activating a license now unlocks premium features immediately - no SimHub restart needed.
  • More consistent Community tabs, editor fixes, and preview-image improvements.
  • Community, licensing, and stability polish.
