Release list
aztree 0.9.3
The map and the side panel are easier to read. The accent is a neutral grey instead of Compute's amber, and Color by change uses red and blue instead of red and green, so colour-blind readers can tell growth from drops; flat spend is no longer coloured as a drop. Only the boxes behind the rows Worth a look shows are hatched, a box shows its name only when enough of it fits, and the whole bill drops "of bill 100%" and the monthly pace that repeated Azure's forecast. The executables now come with a build attestation: check one with gh attestation verify <file> --repo milanm/aztree.
Install with pipx install aztree or dotnet tool install -g aztree, or download the executable for your system below. The downloads aren't signed yet: Windows and macOS ask once before running them, and a few antivirus engines flag the Windows executable, as they do many Python tools packed with PyInstaller. Check that a download was built here with gh attestation verify <file> --repo milanm/aztree, or install with pipx, which runs the plain Python source.
aztree 0.9.2
0.8.4, 0.9.0 and 0.9.1 never shipped: their Linux builds hung, so this release carries all three. The macOS and Linux executables trust the system's certificates when their bundled OpenSSL finds none (issue #2), and aztree reads REQUESTS_CA_BUNDLE like the Azure CLI. An idle finding with several resources opens a list of them, each with its cost and a portal link. Each run keeps a dated copy in ~/.aztree/history/, and saved data and the AI export name their format's version.
Install with pipx install aztree or dotnet tool install -g aztree, or download the executable for your system below. The downloads aren't signed yet: Windows and macOS ask once before running them.
aztree 0.8.3
Fixes from an outside review: FOCUS purchases convert to dollars with the rest of a mixed-currency bill, Advisor tips show related spend instead of claiming to cover it, one subscription read as period totals no longer hides the others' dev/test findings, the Advisor panel says when some subscriptions couldn't be read, and gaps in FOCUS files show on the page and in the export. Releases now publish to PyPI only after every executable has built.
Install with pipx install aztree or dotnet tool install -g aztree, or download the executable for your system below. The downloads aren't signed yet: Windows and macOS ask once before running them.
aztree 0.8.2
Clearer messages and a few edge cases in --focus, and the README's portal check says a few cents.
Install with pipx install aztree or dotnet tool install -g aztree, or download the executable for your system below. The downloads aren't signed yet: Windows and macOS ask once before running them.
aztree 0.8.1
The page's bottom line no longer links to awstree; the README keeps the credit.
Install with pipx install aztree or dotnet tool install -g aztree, or download the executable for your system below. The downloads aren't signed yet: Windows and macOS ask once before running them.
aztree 0.8.0
aztree --focus reads Cost Management FOCUS export files (CSV or CSV.gz) and draws the page without calling Azure: the newest export run owns each day and the period ends on a complete one. The tag view points to tag inheritance and a tag policy when a tenth of the bill is untagged, and FOCUS runs note reservation and savings plan purchases.
Install with pipx install aztree or dotnet tool install -g aztree, or download the executable for your system below. The downloads aren't signed yet: Windows and macOS ask once before running them.
aztree 0.7.0
Regions show under the portal's names, and the idle checks now cover gateways, load balancers, Application Gateways, ExpressRoute circuits, private endpoints, elastic pools and Premium disks and snapshots. Both come from Microsoft's FinOps toolkit.
Install with pipx install aztree or dotnet tool install -g aztree, or download the executable for your system below. The downloads aren't signed yet: Windows and macOS ask once before running them.
aztree 0.6.1
The selected subscription, resource group or resource opens in the
Azure portal from its name in the side panel (thanks to @akiller,
#1), in its own tenant's directory when --all spans several tenants.
Install with pipx install aztree or dotnet tool install -g aztree, or download the executable for your system below. The downloads aren't signed yet: Windows and macOS ask once before running them.
aztree 0.6.0
aztree now installs without Python too: dotnet tool install -g aztree
on .NET 8 or later, or a standalone executable for Windows, Linux
(x64 and Arm) and macOS (Apple silicon and Intel) from the GitHub
release. Azure PowerShell users can pass a token from Get-AzAccessToken.
Install with pipx install aztree or dotnet tool install -g aztree, or download the executable for your system below. The downloads aren't signed yet: Windows and macOS ask once before running them.
