Chap 2.2.0
Chap 2.2.0
A cleaner, more capable notch.
Added
- Mirror — A webcam icon in the black strip beside the notch. Click it and
your camera, flipped like a mirror, pops open just below the strip so you can
check yourself before a call. Nothing is recorded, and Chap asks for camera
access only the first time. Hide it with Show Mirror in Settings → Notch. - Quick Note — Type a plain-text note right in the notch. It saves as you
type and keeps the notch open while you write; press Esc or click elsewhere
to finish. - App icons — The Apps widget shows your apps as a two-column icon grid,
and you can now add up to six apps. - Edit from the notch — Click the Sites, Apps, or Finder title to open that
list in Settings.
Changed
- More legible notch — Fewer text sizes, brighter headings, stronger
shortcut keys, aligned rows, and columns sized to their content. Screenshots
show when they were taken instead of a cut-off file name, and dropped files
appear as a compact row. - Cleaner shortcut keys — The notch shows just the key (1, N). Hold Option
while it is open to light them up as ⌥1, ⌥N. - Plain app launch — Clicking an app without a shortcut in the notch opens
it as-is. Apps with a shortcut, Sites, and Finder still open centered at their
saved size. - Six notch slots in one row — The page dots and swipe from 2.1 are gone;
widgets on later pages move into free slots automatically. - Finder naming — The notch section formerly called Folders is now Finder.
- Easier adding in Settings — Click the URL, App, or Finder heading, then +
to add an item to that section. - Glass — Clear Glass gets a light veil for contrast, and new setups default
to Regular Glass. Your saved choice is kept.
Notes
- macOS 14.0+ is required. Liquid Glass requires macOS 26+.
- Camera permission is needed only if you use Mirror.
