Data 0.5.0 (pre-release)
Fifth data release of openvehicle-data: passenger cars (EU category M1) registered in Italy in 2025, from the EEA CO2 monitoring data (2025 provisional).
What changed since 0.4.0
- Model families. The catalog's "models" are the EEA commercial names, which for some makers include trim and engine (Mercedes-Benz
GLC 220 D 4MATIC, BMWX1 SDRIVE18D, VolkswagenID.4 PRO 210 KW). Every model now belongs to a family (families.csv,family_idon each model): 634 families for 1,177 models. Reviewed rules per brand group the models of 18 brands (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG, Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen ID., Maserati, Ferrari, Cupra, MINI, Lexus, Skoda, Volvo, Hyundai, Renault, Opel, Bentley, Rolls-Royce); brands without rules keep one family per model. For example Mercedes-Benz goes from 161 models to 26 families, BMW from 175 to 30. - No model, variant or measured value changes: see
CHANGELOG.md(634 families added, the 1,177 models get theirfamily_id).
Contents: 84 brands, 634 families, 1,177 models, 714 engines, 12,649 variants, with the source, license and verification status of the technical specification fields, and registrations on families, models and variants.
Files: openvehicle-data.db (SQLite), one CSV per table (now including families.csv), provenance.csv, dataset.json, manifest.json (SHA-256 of every file), CHANGELOG.md, LICENSE-DATA, NOTICE.
Known limits: no trims or equipment; no wheelbase or track width (empty in the Italian EEA data); names as reported by the EEA (upper case); families only for the 18 brands above; years are registration years seen in the data, not production years. Pre-release: the source data is provisional.

Data 0.4.0 (pre-release)
Fourth data release of openvehicle-data: passenger cars (EU category M1) registered in Italy in 2025, from the EEA CO2 monitoring data (2025 provisional).
What changed since 0.3.0
- Two known duplicate model names are merged through the reviewed corrections file, each with a written reason: Toyota
YARIS GRintoGR YARIS(now 90 registrations) and Fiat500 ABARTHintoABARTH 500(now 86). The original spellings stay as aliases. Model and variant ids of the merged spellings change; seeCHANGELOG.md. - 1,177 models (was 1,179). Nothing else changes in the data.
Contents: 84 brands, 1,177 models, 714 engines, 12,649 variants, with the source, license and verification status of every field, and registrations on models and variants.
Files: openvehicle-data.db (SQLite), one CSV per table, provenance.csv, dataset.json, manifest.json (SHA-256 of every file), CHANGELOG.md, LICENSE-DATA, NOTICE.
Known limits: no trims or equipment; no wheelbase or track width (empty in the Italian EEA data); names as reported by the EEA (upper case, some models split by trim or engine, such as Mercedes GLC 220 D 4MATIC); years are registration years seen in the data, not production years. Pre-release: the source data is provisional.

Third data release of openvehicle-data: passenger cars (EU category M1) registered in Italy in 2025, from the EEA CO2 monitoring data (2025 provisional).
What changed since 0.2.0
- A small reviewed corrections file is now applied, each entry with a written reason. Two models listed under the wrong make in the source are excluded (
FIAT GOLF, a Volkswagen;FIAT AVENGER, a Jeep), and brand names written several ways are merged into one canonical brand, keeping the other spellings as aliases:VWandVOLKSWAGEN, VWintoVOLKSWAGEN,SSANGJONGintoSSANGYONG,MERCEDESintoMERCEDES-BENZ,DS AUTOMOBILESintoDS,SOCIETE DES AUTOMOBILES ALPINE(SAA)intoALPINE,CATERHAM CARS LTD.intoCATERHAM. - 84 brands (was 91) and 1,179 models (was 1,193). Brand ids of the merged spellings disappear; see

FIAT PANDAis nowPANDA, withFIAT PANDAkept as an alias): 1,193 models instead of 1,220. Model and variant ids change for these names. - New
