Third data release of openvehicle-data: passenger cars (EU category M1) registered in Italy in 2025, from the EEA CO2 monitoring data (2025 provisional).

What changed since 0.2.0

  • A small reviewed corrections file is now applied, each entry with a written reason. Two models listed under the wrong make in the source are excluded (FIAT GOLF, a Volkswagen; FIAT AVENGER, a Jeep), and brand names written several ways are merged into one canonical brand, keeping the other spellings as aliases: VW and VOLKSWAGEN, VW into VOLKSWAGEN, SSANGJONG into SSANGYONG, MERCEDES into MERCEDES-BENZ, DS AUTOMOBILES into DS, SOCIETE DES AUTOMOBILES ALPINE(SAA) into ALPINE, CATERHAM CARS LTD. into CATERHAM.
  • 84 brands (was 91) and 1,179 models (was 1,193). Brand ids of the merged spellings disappear; see CHANGELOG.md.

Contents: 84 brands, 1,179 models, 714 engines, 12,649 variants, with the source, license and verification status of every field, and registrations on models and variants.

Files: openvehicle-data.db (SQLite), one CSV per table, provenance.csv, dataset.json, manifest.json (SHA-256 of every file), CHANGELOG.md, LICENSE-DATA, NOTICE.

Known limits: no trims or equipment; no wheelbase or track width (empty in the Italian EEA data); names as reported by the EEA (upper case, a few near-duplicates with reordered words such as 500 ABARTH / ABARTH 500); years are registration years seen in the data, not production years. Pre-release: the source data is provisional.
