Codec 0.2.0
Move the codec to stable Effect 4.0.x and release codec 0.2.0. The peer is now effect >=4.0.3 <4.1; release candidates are no longer supported. No source, public API or Wasm asset change: the built output is byte-identical to 0.1.1 and the decoder asset is unchanged (70caf381…). Fixes the Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'scheduler') crash that appears when the codec shares an application's Effect 4.x copy with a package still pinned to an Effect release candidate.
Validation: differential run of 0.1.1/0.2.0 on Effect rc.115 and 4.0.4 (identical behaviour, one measured JSON-of-SchemaError-cause exception documented in the changelog); native oracle and codec checks; reproducible encoder/decoder builds; packed Bun, Node, Chromium, Firefox and WebKit consumers on Effect 4.0.3 and 4.0.4; npm install --strict-peer-deps fixtures. Registry verification: https://github.com/misofm/codec/actions/runs/38430320099 . Changelog and migration note: CHANGELOG.md.
Closes #10.
Codec 0.1.1
Enable compiler-generated Wasm SIMD in the existing FLAC decoder and release codec 0.1.1. On the same eight-stem corpus, median decoding time decreased 2.57% with one worker and 4.30% with eight, with identical PCM and unchanged memory bounds.
Validation: fresh Astra review; native oracle and codec checks; reproducible encoder/decoder builds; packed Bun, Node, Chromium, Firefox and WebKit consumers with both supported Effect peers; independent Sol before/after benchmarks. Evidence is retained in .github/RELEASE_EVIDENCE/006/.
Closes #6.
v0.1.0
Initial release of @misofm/codec: storage-neutral FLAC encoding and asynchronous streaming decoding with Bun and Effect v4, backed by pinned libFLAC 1.5.0 WebAssembly.
- Bounded mono/stereo 16-bit and 24-bit PCM encoding with caller-owned random-access output.
- Streaming metadata and PCM decoding with backpressure, cancellation, and FLAC integrity checks.
- Universal Wasm assets with a Node/Bun loader and documented browser-worker integration.
- Verified packed consumers on Bun, Node, Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit with both supported Effect peers.
bun add @misofm/codec effect@4.0.0-rc.115The initial release is published through the local npm CLI to establish the package. It has no CI provenance attestation. The repository contains an OIDC release workflow for subsequent releases and verifies registry tarball equality before running the full consumer matrix.
The npm trusted publisher is configured for misofm/codec and npm-publish.yml. The registry verification workflow passed qualification, exact artifact comparison, all consumer combinations, and signature verification. This verify-only run did not perform an OIDC publication.
