Creating Assemblies

• Use the assembly workbench to build models out of the library parts.
• If you want non-standard colors for the parts, use the custom Colors dialog after inserting the part.
• Insert sub-assemblies as rigid. Apply the rigid property before applying any joint to the subassembly.
• Performance of the Assembly workbench degrades with the number of parts. However, if you start a new assembly and insert the initial one as rigid, the parts count is reset. An option is to first position all the parts and than, in a wrapper assembly, the nuts and bolts.

Convenience Settings

• Allow for multiple parts with the same name (label). Otherwise a count is added to the name which overwrites any number at the end of the name. This is a Freecad settings option.
• Enable synchronizing the structure tree and the 3D view
